Is David Lee still going to demand 17M per year after Bynum has another poor game against the Clippers? I think 12M per year is a reasonable contract similar to what Okafor and Biedrins got.

I don't understand Laker fans. You guys hyped him up and project him to be an epic player, yet you want him to accept Biedrins money?

Bynum is getting a max contract offer when he becomes a FA, so it will be up to you guys to match it.

Thats fine. I don't see the Lakers giving him away, but Laker management is performing their due diligence in determining if he will be able to handle himself physically before investing 85 million dollars in the 21 year old who has exactly one month of good basketball under his belt. If we don't sign him by the 31st, he will become a RESTRICTED free agent, other teams will set the market for him, and we'll match it. Simple.

What exactly don't you get about that? Do you suggest we become the New York Knicks? *Cough*...***CURRY****...

First of all it makes zero sense to give into Bynum's agents demands of a max contract before the Oct 31 deadline. If the team can get a "bargain" it would be worth the gamble of paying him now and taking the chance of re-injury. But gambling at max rate is just bad business, very New York Knick-like.

I think its in the teams best interest to see how he holds up through 82 games+. At this point its not a matter of Laker fans or management thinking he's going to be a great player, its a matter of health.

If they lock up Bynum for now they can concentrate on Kobe and Odom.
