I know it's posted on ESPNs' website but just want to put it here for discussion purposes
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?page=jchill-081106It appears he's doing quite well overthere with his own 3 stories house, private pool, volvo (LOL), maid, and about 12 plane tickets.
He makes a good point though, "i'm the test dummy for the guys in the nba" something like that...
I also like how honest the owners were about signing kobe
"Could you afford Josh Childress at $20 million for three years, and Kobe Bryant at $50 million for one season?
"For one year, no! There's no logic. But there are [logical] numbers to our minds that can make even better players than Josh come and play for us."
Very interesting article. Lots of things i've learned about the euroleague just by reading the article.

Good for him. Any real player would want to test himself against the real players. That is in the NBA. So he took a payday to go overseas. Took the lame way out. He would have got his money somewhere in the NBA. Hope he gets a hair cut. Dude, that style never was in...lol

Childress isn't going to be a superstar from what i see, why not. i think it was a great idea. Althought ATL finally looks legit. I think it's an even better idea for the 1 year out of HS kid that went over there Brandon Jennings. Phenominal experience.

LOdom is going to be one of the biggest over seas targets out there. Everyone knows who he is from the Shaq trade and being a Laker. If they will give Childress the equivalent to a 33 mil / 3 year contract after taxes than they would they may try to mess this future dynasty. Watch out for these Euros. Its a great story but stay away from Lakers please!

I think it is absolutely terrible what's going on.
I just hope he meant 1 year 50 million makes no sence but 3 year 150 does.
When average players go to europe instead of making the league min to alot more I understand but if a star went there who could have gotten a mult million dollar deal here is a sell out to his country.
I never called Kobe selfish even when he used to be but if he went to europe that would be not only selfish but he would be a horrible sell out and I would never cheer for him again.
They should make some kind of agreement that prevents the stars from leaving.
Maybe some kind of franchise player rule except each team gets 5.
As long as they pay them a certain amount they can't leave.
I know its a buisness but it shouldn't be buisness 1st 2nd and 3rd.
I mean how can you call yourself an american espially if your Kobe or Lebron and have your country n cirsis and then add to the problem and leave. Pathetic.
It's not like they need the money.
The play sports. Its not a job thats an activity. Most people have to pay to play. These guys not only get paid but they get paid a fortune and then get paid to wear shoes and do commercials.
Plus you might think that not every player gets endorsments but almost every good player does overseas. I could see doing commercials overseas but to leave the country which is in crisis is disguitsing.
