LO Quietly Shooting 50% from 3 Point Land

I still havent seen LO Kobe Gasol & Bynum on the floor together.
Please do it if only for a few mins at some point Phil Jackson.
Rad can shoot and has size but Odom is leading the team in 3pt% making half of his threes. I love this 1-2 punch, but maybe in the 2nd quarter try a line up of the the Lakers best players w/ Fish running point. I NEED to see this.
For those who think Odom cant play the 3. He has done it through out his career and he has been shooting very well. He SHOULD be more aggressive w/ the second unit but he is not. PJ please play this line-up
Does anybody else care to see this?

Dude.. he's taking 2 shots and hitting 1 every game. Thats as flawed a statistic as you can get.

No. No, we would not. We wouldn't get rid of our defensive anchor for another power foward that would push pau back to center and still keep odom on the bench.
I'd have to think about Dirk for Gasol. Dirk is CLEARLY the better player, but I think Pau fits with us better than dirk would. I'm also against any radical move right now, simply because I really want to give this group a chance.
As for the thread, I absolutely would like to see that lineup. Just to see what it could do, and who it could be effective against. Looking at it though, it would probably only be used in specialized situations. Odom is not a 3-point shooter. As J-far pointed out, the volume of 3's he's taking are very low. I mean, if he keeps hitting at that rate, it'd be great, and would add another dimension to use him. But he's not a real 3-point shooter, per se.

How is 8 for 15 flawed over 7 games.
Shot selection is key.
The Lakers dont need to make a significant move but Dirk has far more value than Bynum. Bynum has played good for 40 games. Dirk was defending MVP a year ago. The Lakers dont need to make a trade but there is no way Mitch doesnt take that phone call and discuss it w/ coach Jackson & Buss. I always hoped that the Lakers would have traded Shaq and Payton for Nash & Dirk and Malone would have come back. That would have been great. But nothing has been as good as THIS laker team w/ Bynum.
PLAY THE 5 BEST LAKERS TOGETHER!!! All I need to see is a few minutes. I have been jonesing since Feb to see the 5 best Lakers play together!

Dirk & Howard for Bynum & Odom isnt fair? Kidd would have to come too because he doesnt deserve rebuilding mode. Maybe the Lakers could throw in Mihm...

dirk for odom (resigned) + mihm (resigned) + 09' first (lakers choose for mavs) on draft day
is probably the best we can do...

Isn't that 2 shots a game?
If you're talking shot selection may be we could put up the number of shots he's taken and missed from 15 ft and out. His best strength is driving to the basket and he could so well to stick to that.

Still...Every time he shoots a 3 I yell "WHAT ARE YOU DOING LAMAR?" at my TV...even though he is making 50% right now, I still hate it when he shoots them...oh well

i'm confused.. which topic is this about.. the trade or odom trade LOL
IMO, when i see odom shoot the 3, it freaks me out for some reason. Maybe it's his stance or stroke but i feel he's going to rim it or backboard it lol. But he's been making em and at a hight percentage too..
About trading LO and Bynum for dirk + scrappies... i wouldn't. Our chemistry is too good to break them up right now. Plus Dirk would take over Pau's position where Pau is fluorishing right now. And Bynum is average mad blocks percentage per game. His defensive presence is too much of a big plus for us.

lamar shooting makes me feel uncomfortable too, but so do derek fisher's rainbows, its just wierd seeing jumpshots by lefties for me...
i disagree with not trading lamar, dirk is definitely capable of playing small forward and spreading the floor, imagine having 3 7ft and taller players in the front court + kobe
and we could probably get away with moving pau or bynum to the bench, and still be able to sustain the 3 big man rotation given our depth at small forward
that said, no way dallas makes us stronger period, theyd sooner trade him east, i wish we had 2 draft picks to trade

a clever way not to get your trade thread lock when you didn't put it in the trade thread?

Yup, it's his contract season.. so he should be stepping it up more. Go LO!, we still believe in u. Ginobli is out so you have a head start on the 6th man award. go go go!

LO still needs to be a more aggressive scorer with the second unit. He is a mismatch nightmare for teams and should be averaging 15 off the bench with the second unit. No excuses.

Isn't shooting and defense what he was asked to do in the off season? let him prove himself in this early season. I mean look @ ariza, that was his achilles heel and he's shooting better than expected and I don't think you're yelling @ the tv everytime he takes the shot. prolly the opposite when ariza's wide open and choses to drive.
I'll give lamar the benefit of the doubt. But for sure one player, lamar, vlade, or luke is gone by trade deadline to try to free up cap to resign ariza.

I really can't defend a guy in a contract year when all of off season he was at the beach sipping Coronas.

Odom shot 5 for 5 in the last game... but we lost D4MN
Why would it hurt to put the best 5 Lakers on the floor at 1 time when they all are capable of playing different positions. I'm not saying change the starting line-up.
PG Fish
SG Kobe
SF LO
PF Gasol
C Bynum
LO did help get us to the Finals last year!

Odom has never been great at the SF spot. The problem with putting him at the 3 is it would require much more reading on when to make the cut and when(and where) to make the right pass. Putting him at the 4 simplifies things and that has been true for his whole career.
