"I don't want to answer that now because it would be unfair to Mr. (Steve) Kerr (the Suns president)," said O'Neal when asked if he can see himself back in Los Angeles. "I don't want to answer that. But who knows. I don't like to think that far ahead, but anything could happen."
"It's just that I'd say stuff, he'd say stuff," said O'Neal. "I think it was all designed by Phil (Jackson). Because if you think about it, Phil never called us into the office and said, ''Both of you all, shut the (heck) up.'' Never did that in four years. He knew that when I read something, I was going to get upset. And he knew Kobe was going to always come out and play hard. So I think it was all done by design."

Now why would he go and suggest that Phil would do such a thing? It's not like he freaking wrote a book about it to make money.

i really dont think any deal would be reached with shaq
itd create unnecessary attention, having two alpha males on the team again isnt going to ever make things better
plus, how is shaq going to fit in with the second unit's pace?

I concur, Kobe will win a Ring before he comes back as well so no more issues. Book that!

Despite everything that has happened, Shaq will always be one of my favorite Lakers. He was the dominant force in an era where we finally three-peated, something no other Laker teams did.
I think it would be great if he came back and retired as a Laker. Regardless, if that happens or not, the Lakers will retire his number and have a great retirement ceremony for him at some point.
If Shaq did come back and obviously reconciled with Kobe - for me - and I'm not speaking for anyone else, obviously, I think it would allow us to hold those three titles at the start of the century with the reverence they really deserve.
I think the breakup of the team and years of the fiascoes has taken a little shine off those titles, but they definitely count, never the less.

Shaq knows he ain't winning NOTHING in Phoenix, he's dead serious about having 6 or so rings. Now he's making amends with Kobe through the media, this is all a mirage until he actually speaks to Kobe in private. His biggest obstacle will be Dr.Buss, but if this means money in his pocket by the fan fare Shaq would create here again he'll go for quickly.

Well, dismissing the lack of accountability, it's pretty clear Shaq misses what he had with Kobe. Notice he rarely talks about Wade?

It's funny, Shaq has always been a contradiction from the beginning, needling Kobe while singing the highest praises. Calling him the best ever while giving him the cold shoulder.
