Should we go after Javaris?

I was really high on him before the Gasol trade. Should we try to get him back? We can have him for cheap. Say, Mihm and Sun? I think Critt can be very good under Kobe and Phil. He has speed, size, athleticism, and (god forbid) if Fisher or Farmar gets injured, Critt would be a great replacement to have. Thoughts?

I'd like to see him back. I think he has a great future.

Even though we only got to see for a short period of time.. he was very impressive... kinda like a younger farmar even though farmar is already young as is lol.
But i wouldn't mine trading sun for javaris. I still like mihm because he can provide us with the banged up garbage minutes as well as help us if our bigs we're in foul trouble.
How is he doing so far? probably not playing at all albeit.

I'd like to see him come back. He's got a lot to offer in my opinion and I liked his ball handling skills when he was here.

Not so fast on Sun because you meant to say not good yet.

We'd probably have to decide between Javaris or Sun. I think Javaris has a bigger upside than Sun.

but sun brings in the moolah from across the pacific!
that is if he ever gets NBA fit
with a team already this deep, why bother with talent, go straight for the marketing dollars!
i dont even see how critter ever gets PT over sasha or farmar at this rate
the lakers dont need to get any deeper, we need to get stronger and javaris would just be rotting on the bench the same way as he is on the grizzlies' bench, its a no-win situation for him...
i wouldnt even think the lakers FO would pick up his team options on future years because of the luxury tax, especially if he isnt contributing AND especially as he isnt doing it for minimum dollars... unlike Sun
we all knew javaris was only getting PT last season just to use him as trade bait when the right deal came along... Phil knew what he was doing, giving him a few minutes here and there, trying to keep the mystique about javaris and not giving a big enough sample size to scouts who would otherwise find faults in his play
heck, all the time he was playing, we all saw him trying way too hard to impress and he ended bricking a lot of simple things... at least he threw in a couple of flashy spin moves to get the grizzlies interested...
the only way hes ever back in a lakers uni is if we're dumping salary, and i seriously dont think memphis are interested in either luke or vladi

I feel for the guy. Tremendous talent being wasted away for the lack of opportunity. I just hope he finds a way to get to Miami.
PS: He's a better player than Mike COnley IMO.

I was really high on Critt and even the other Gasol. I thought the Lakers did an outstanding job of bringing in talent on the relative cheap.
Even as great as Gasol is, I thought the deal wasn't the steal everyone thought it was with what the Lakers were giving up.
It would be great to get Critt back, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
Best bet would be briniging him back in the future as a FA after Fish retires.

Agreed totally. He'd be awesome for what they're trying to do down there. I don't remember how well he could shoot, but Quinn could be replaced if he shows up. I'm all for it since he won't get time here.

If he were a Laker, I'm not sure he wouldn't steal some minutes away from Fisher and Farmar.

No reason. Only trade for a youngster when he fits a need. We need a bruiser.
I want to try Walton and Yue for Diop. Rick Carlisle has stated Luke is one of his favorite players in the league. Yue is a potential Kidd replacement and he can help make the franchise a little money with the obvious demographic increase. It also saves the Mavs roughly 4-6 million dollars -- their contracts are very similar.

Why go after Javaris? He sucks right now. We ain't rebuilding anymore. We need veterans.
