Andrew Bynum has pain and inflammation in his right foot as a result of a small bone spur that chipped off during the game Tuesday night against New Jersey. MRI and CT examinations showed the injury, which has the Lakers considering Bynum day-to-day. More information is expected Friday before the game against Dallas.

Agh. Do we sit him out for a couple games now or let this be problematic all season while he plays through it?

I'm thinking, we sit him down for a couple games now. Hopefully Josh Powell can step up.

Can they not use some sonic waves to break up the spur like they do gale stones. Maybe it will go away with some time and rest.

He will be ok, these kind of injures just need abit of ice and rest. I wouldn't be against sitting him the next two games just to give him 4 or so days to rest. Al depends on how Drew feels. It is a minor injury.

No need to add insult to injury. He can sit and we won't miss a beat, particularly against Dallas (you're welcome for the jinx).

Sit him for awhile if that is what is needed. Mihm, Mbenga, and Powell can fill the gap.

i just hope its nothing serious but we can hold down the fort.

In a way, this is the best possible thing to happen to Lamar. He's playing very well and deserved to see some minutes.

I think we'll be alright.

I'll hold judgement to see if he plays tonight.

Lakers watching Bynum's foot injury, but he should play

Lakers center Andrew Bynum was at the team's shoot-around this morning and said he felt OK. He is expected to play tonight against the Dallas Mavericks at Staples Center.

Bynum suffered a right foot injury in Tuesday's win over New Jersey and tests showed that a small bone spur had chipped off the foot, causing pain and inflammation.

Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said today, "We are confident he is going to play but it is still going to be a game-time decision." Bynum was hurt in the first quarter of Tuesday's game when he collided with the Nets' Vince Carter, Jackson said.

is this a kind of nagging foot injury?

i would hate for it to get worst and karma screw us at the wrong moment...

can't it be surgically removed without too much inflammation?

Putting up the performance he did despite the injury, its very impressive indeed. Well done and a big step taken in the learning curve for baby Bynum! :D
