so how many of you guys remember all the flack that Kobe took in the finals for yelling at his team mates? as I recall there was even some patriot football player (or was it a Hocky player...who cares!) writting an article in the Boston Herald shocked at what an A-whole Kobe was.

where is the outrage? I see hypocracy in the GB, they don't mention Kobe at all, but they praise the KG intencity. what gives?

You can find countless examples of KG acting like a moron, but that is not one of them in my opinion. Frankly, Davis needs to look in the mirror and ask himself if he deserves a set of balls after that. It's like he's throwing a temper tantrum after his dad grounded him.

A grown man like Glen Davis should not be crying and pouting like he did on national tv. Especially if they won the game. That's just ridiculous. The funny thing is it's not like he was tearing up a little bit and was trying to hide them back. He was full-out crying and cursing and throwing his towel.

I am not saying that KG was acting like a moron, what I am saying is that it seems that when Kobe does it his leadership skills suck, but when KG does it his leadership is top notch.

there is no shortage of kg criticism on the general board.

Yeah, I caught you. My bad for using the general "you" when it could have been construed as a specific "you." I was just making a general comment.

maybe kobe should start yellng at our guys until they cry. KG was yelling at his guys because portland was cutting the lead. We let guys cut the lead on us like its nothing. KG doesnt tolerate for huge leads to be blown therefore he had to yell. I could see kobe yelling at Sasha and making him cry and maybe if the other guys see this then they will play some defense.

It's gotten to the point to where even if Kobe is getting on his team mates and "telling the truth" like Van Gundy was praising KG for, Kobe's still going to get bitched at for it. People like to tear down the #1 guy to elevate themselves, that's how a lot of people are in this f'ed up world we live in. I will hand it to KG he did the right thing dragging bitch-baby Davis back into that huddle, and you see the result of it, the dude cries. You see Kobe do that same thing to a Laker team mate and they look him straight in the eyes and nod their head like they will do better from then on.

There's always been a double-standard when it came to criticism of Kobe Bryant.

That's how we like it though, the injustice.

I think it's OK for a leader to yell at his team mates at times, as long as he fares with the truth and has no ill intent. The team must know deep down that their captain will always have their back and the team's best interest in mind. If they do, you can occasionally adrenaline-yell at them and have positive effects from it. As long as your bringing the truth to their attention, you're in the right.

It always seemed to me as if KG's criticism of his team mates was constructive in its intent — for the better of the team.

Kobe is on the right path of becoming a much better leader now, so I guess this is a bit of a re-hash of Kobe's old behavior, which I kind of don't want to do. I'm just really happy to see Kobe's interaction with his team being so much better now than then. Regardless,

Through 2005-2007, Kobe was different than he is now. Very different from KG. And KG was going through similar issues with his team mates. Kobe was sort of on his own island and not really a glue and corner piece for the team chemistry, whereas KG had his team mates eagerly listening to him in the huddle.

Back then, Kobe didn't strike me as the leader that unconditionally had their backs. Besides playing like a god, that is. I think KG did. The way Kobe used to interact with his team mates was different than the way KG has always done it. It's not the same way anymore with Kobe, but I guess that's not what this thread is about. We're talking about Kobe's mentality then vs KG now, right? Kobe seems way more mature now, so this is not an issue like it used to, and there's no vindication to be had here, in my opinion.

Kobe is more engaged, more caring and more big-brotherish these days. Like he should be. He seems to have earned their trust on a bigger scale. They seem to all feel like they're a part of the team now. What a big difference a few years can make. But then again, I'm just guessing. I don't know jack •••• about the inner dynamics of any of those teams, nor do I know Kobe or KG. I'm just glad it's better tha it used to.

P.S. Btw, the truth is the only thing that can hurt that bad. Big Baby will grow up faster because of it. Ridiculous of him to sit there and cry on TV because someone called out his lack of execution, btw. If you're going to do that, hang your head and cover it with a towel or something. Crying in despair on TV because your püߥ hurts?

KG has done some terrible things on the court but this one's definitely not amongst them. I'm perfectly fine with it if he did it as a leader and I don't think he singled out Davis either. He was more or less making a point to the whole 2nd unit in his own animated way.
