Kobe 4 shoes

Post#1 » by Slava » Thu Dec 11, 2008 9:30 pm

I don't know how many of you have seen these but the low cuts are something that I always liked for basketball because I could move faster, change directions quicker and get a far better elevation on my jumper. Although I've never tried it in actual scrimmage out of fear of rolling an ankle but if Kobe says its safe, it must be!

I really love the white version and I'm going to get a pair of these as soon as they hit the stores.

He's supposed to debut these on 19th of Dec against the Heat.

Plus, they've obviously done some things to the shoe to probably make them more basketball friendly. So you don't roll your ankles, etc.

They do look really nice though.

i like the idea of a lowtop and now that I think of it, play better when I wear them. One side note though: in the article he said he wanted a true lowtop. This looks more like a hybrid. It's not like a low-top Nike air force one or dunk.

Yeah this one looks more like a hybrid between a hyperdunk and a low top, the one he's been testing out in practises. I hope they keep it like this because any lower than that would make it look a casual sneaker, taking away the unique feel to it.

Kobe wants this to be inspired by his soccer style shoes.

Question for you boys that plays ball.

Do you guys only wear these shoes ie Jordans, lebrons, Kobes, etc to strictly ball? Or do you guys actually wear them when you go out as well? I have a few friends who only wear them when they ball at the gym, and a few that would wear them when they ball and go out casually. Just curious for you guys usage of them.

I do wear basketball shoes when I go out but the pair I use in the gym, I don't use it for anything else.

I've had the last couple Kobe's, Minhee. And I've been in high school throughout that time. I played high school basketball, and when it was basketball season, I'd wear them only for practice and games.

Now that I'm in University and not in basketball (aside from going to the gym), I still wear them walking around. A lot more wear and tear on the shoe, that's for sure, but they're comfortable, and they look good.. so I wear them.

Really depends on the situation.

And that's why I won't be wasting $150 on basketball shoes, I can ball with $50 b-ball shoes the same as $150.

Save that $100 for food, gas, and other needs

LOL at your sig.
-I might even vote for Chairman Yi.

Yeah I like low tops more than high tops.

I used to dig the AIs that were built that way.. and a few MJs.

I never really liked Kobe's shoes before, but they were always comfortable (outside of the Kobe3s, I haven't worn them down, I think... even though I had them for a long while).

I've been buying mostly Kobe kicks recently, and I'll probably get either Kobe4s or hyperdunks.

Don't like most of the styles available though, hehe.

And not many available at my size either... maybe I'll get em this month or sooner.

I'll checkout this link later, nice find.

I heard a Kobe interview today on the radio and he said that the design for the sole of the shoe was inspired by Spiderman 3, especially the scene when Peter Parker was struggleling to get Venom off of him.
