Raja Bell

Post#1 » by joe.linnen » Fri Dec 12, 2008 3:26 pm

I was thinking about what was posted on another thread. One of the guys was saying that we should call up the Bobcats and see if they are willing to let Bell go. We have one roster spot open.

OMG not you again. Why would they want to keep him? They need to let him go to a team that could use him better. Bell isn't a leader in any shap or form, so let him go to a contender.

For the Bobcats it not about be in contention right now (im sure they'd love to be) but it's about improving and being competitive. Raja played for LB when Brown coach the 76ers, Raja was on the 2001 team that met the Lakers in the Finals. Point being is they made that trade to get a Larry Brown type of player in there a guy who is hard noised on defense and can spread the floor on offense. I believe he was the main peace to the deal with Diaw being the complementary player..

With that being said, I think Raja would be an awesome addiction to our Laker team. He is the hard noised defensive type of player that we really need but he also fits the bill on offense of being able to spread the floor with his ability to get hot from three.

Pg- D-Fish
Sg- Bell
Sf- Kobe
Pf- Gasol
C- Bynum

first thought on this thread was that it was dead on arrival because of the history of Larry Brown and Bell.

+1. OP -- not all Laker fans are created equal (esp. not with equal ability to reason). Passion is a blessing and a curse.

If Kobe's okay with Bell coming in (and I do believe he would be informed given their history) then I sure as heck wouldn't have any beef with the guy.

I don't care much for Bell, either (based on his antics, not on his play). But he's one of those guys you hate when he's on the other team, but love to have with you.

Can you guys imagine what this would do to Kobe's game? Oh the possibilities.

I was saying that I would love to see Bell/Bryant/Ariza/Gasol/Bynum to end the game. I think that with Bell at the 1 Kobe at the 2, and Ariza at the 3 it would take our defence to a new level. On top of that we have Bynum and Gasol up front to block and contest shots.

Not really.........
You see this team has tradition and class, unlike other franchises.
Raja Bell is a dirty Dbag that has had this hatered towrds LA, and its players.
The crap he pulled on Kobe was a disgrace in ANY SPORT, you never ever see a Hockey Player or a football Player put a choke hold on anyone........ I mean I have never ever seen that.
When that happened I lost every bit of respect for him that I had for him and the Suns, and it wasnt much.
I could careless if Kobes cool with it,and I promise you HE ISNT.
Skip Raja and like I said the day he puts on a Lakers Jersey Im no longer a Laker fan, and it not because of me not being a true Laker fan, its because I love this team too much to allow some Dbag like Bell to represent a team like MY LAKERS.
Also please dont question my loyalty as a fan. I am a loyal fan and I represnt what I love to the extreme with passion.

No it wouldnt, Raja thinks he's a starter, Raja is selfish and arrogant, do you actually think he's cool coming off the bench? Noooo.
So let me get this straight you rather have Raja start over Fish, I wouldnt trade ten Rajas for half a Fish. lolllllllll
Let Raja be an allstar with the Bobcats....... we dont need the garbage left overs here.

Well you put yourself into question with that statement you posted. I'm a Laker fan no matter what happens. If we go 1-82 I'll still be a fan, I'll be mad as hell but I'll still be a fan. If Shaq re-signed here to back up Bynum, I would still be a fan. At the end of the day it doesn't matter as a fan if you like the player or not the only thnig that should matter to a true fan is that his team goes all the way.

Raja's a good guy. He and Kobe actually put aside all of the past they both had. Raja is one of those guys that is intense in the locker room and he's not afraid to get in people's faces if they're not giving their best effort. Generally, most players once they're traded try to stick the blame on the organization and attack it to cover up the fact that they feel rejected. Raja and Diaw told the truth about the Suns. I respect that about Bell. The only thing I have a beef with Raja about is that he's a streaky shooter from outside, but I'd get past that because the positives of having him on the team outway the negatives, and I'd trust them to be able to utilize him the best way they could.

No idea how you'd get him though.

Joe I think your missing my point, I dont have a problem with my teams success or its faliure.
I dont have a problem with my teams ex players wanting to return to LA, since I am one that favors the return of Shaq more than anyone else on this board, I didnt have a problem with Kobe demanding trades, or when we were a lottery team.
I take the good and the bad of my team and I move forward and hope for a better season, but allowing a DBag like Raja to play for this team, Im totally against.
Again your derailing this thread about Raja possibly of coming to LA into me and my loyalty as a fan of this team.
Lets stay focused on the subject at hand, if and when the Bobcats let go of Raja which they wont, and if and when Raja decides to join LA which I doubt he will and if and when the Lakers do decide to sign Raja, then how is Raja going to work in our system.
Lets stay focused on those subjects and not my loyalty as a fan, thats not what this thread is about.
Thanks brahh.

I think that players at his age would rather get a title. Its kewl to be the man and everything but its even better to be that man that got that much needed stop for his team in the FInals. So this is my question to you would you rather be a leader of a SH%TTY team or be a good as role player on a title team.

Joe, he isnt a good leader, leaders lead by example, what kind of example has he ever set for anyone to follow.
If he was a good role player, with the stacked players that the Suns had in Nash, Amare, Marion, Diaw, and now Shaq........... Tell me something why havent they made it to the finals YET?
There is nothing absoultly nothing that Bell brings that will help LA or make LA stronger, nothing.
Now if were talking about Artest, yes. Bruce Bowen, Yes........... But Bell???????
