The Lakers' no they need help at the wing something like Odom, Luke and Mihm for Wallace, Nazi and filler.

I remember Larry Brown calling Odom one of the best players in the world awhile back; and apperently him is not happy w/ the vets J RIch and G Wallace. Luke tossed in because he is a long contract like Wallace.

A Laker 5 of fish, kobe,Bynum,Gasol and Wallace would be sweetttttttttttttttttt........................the key factor being Wallace's abilty to get the the foul line which is going to be important against Boston. He just had a 10-16 fg game 23 pts game w/ 2 blks a steal and 8 reb versus them.

Wallace makes 8 million this year and it goes up from their but I would rather have him then Luke and Vlad making 10 plus anyday.............he makes 8.2 this year , 9.0 , 9.8, 10.6 and then 11 which is his player opition....If you can ship Lamar and Luke then it helps supplement it easily.

If it just a salary dump, I'd trade Farmar, Luke and Mihm and a lottery protected 1strder... Have Sasha take over the back up PG.

As for the other big I'd try to land Dikemebe, he wants to play after Christmas and wants to be on a winner.

Fish, Kobe, Bynum, Gasol, Wallace....Sasha,Ariza, Mumtombo, odom, Vlad, Powell,

isnt wallace a pretty solid defender? I have always been under the impression that he was a pretty good wing defender. Am I wrong?

My impression of Ger is that he is a high end Trevor Ariza, the difference being Wallace has the handle and quicks to dribble and drive and get to the free throw line, as far as his defense I think it is similar to Ariza--off the ball steals and jumping into lanes for dunks, not great one-on-one D because he has a slight frame but still quick hands....

I loved the depth LO gives our FC on paper. The more I watch him the more I am convinced he doesn't have it mentally. He earns too much to be a non factor on most nights. I love the dude, but he has to go. I'm confident he will flourish on a team that has low expectations.

My concern a GW is health, but he seems like a baller that would not be intimidated by expectations.

I've been pushing for this for years now. There is no better Pippen to Kobe's Jordan than Gerald Wallace. He is everything we need in a 3 in the triangle. Can shoot the 3, can attack the rim, can defend. He does everything Ariza can but better. A lot better. I'd give up Lamar and my pinkie toe for Crash. DO IT MITCH!

Deep what's wrong with Wallace's D? I think the reason you don't go after him is really because of his distance shooting. He has a career avg of .298 from 3pt land. Can't justify his contract at that rate. Rather have Odom.

We need more of a guy like Richard Jefferson

Funny how the Odom, G Wallace and RJ connection is still their as you remember from ,two years ago I think. MJ vetoed the deal that would have sent Wallace to LA and RJ to Charl W/ Odom in NJ if I got the last two destanations right.....

I totally agree W/B Shaw's assesment of Lamar, he has a ton of skill but he doesn't have a ton of BB IQ. He doesn't have it up stairs to hit key free throws, the pressure gets to him and he can't finish. He seems to have a one thought process at one time, either he goes to the hoop hard or he is deciding not to shoot and pass and he has his mind made up--he can't change his mind once he decides.

Double D I never questioned his defense or his ability at all. The thing is at this point we need a 3 who's going to be defensive minded and has to settle for a lesser role on offense, this is the only reason why I say no to Wallace for now........not saying forever. And as you pointed out his outside shooting ability is below average, plus he's a slasher who game feeds off getting to the basket. Hell Kobe is having a hard time himself getting into the paint.

Personally I love Wallace defense, but when people come with these types of threads wanting this guy or that guy they FAIL to realize what type of player can actually fit into the Triangle. Bottom line this offense isn't for everybody and has made guys look bad before. Remember when we picked up J.R Rider ? That guy was an offensive demon and had the frame to defend 3's, 2's and 1's............but his mental fortitude kept him from really resurrecting his career here.

And don't get me wrong I don't mind ever trying to get better and in some cases extremely better. I would rather see guys come in during the off season so they can get a full crash course of the O. Pau last season was a exception simply because he was a 4-5 guy, and the offense is designed for those guys anyway.

i personally think the best 3 is a two-way player that can create his own offense

there arent that many out there...

I don't think Gerald Wallace is the answer. If I were to trade Odom it would be for either Francisco Garcia or Joakim Noah. Both those guys have championship qualities to their games. Odom is a better player then both of them, but he just doesn't have "it" like those two guys do.

Noah would fit in playing next to Bynum or Gasol while providing relentless defensive intensity with strong rebounding. Garcia would give our starting lineup the perfect balance on both ends of the floor, he's a high IQ player that is one of the top wing defenders in the league. To me Garcia is what I want Luke, Radmanovic, and Ariza to be and more.

Too bad Odom doesn't really have any value being an expiring that'll probably bolt at the end of the season if he isn't still on the lakers. Kings probably wouldn't want him either so Garcia would have to be part of a threeway.

the problem with trading lamar is that there is no one else to back up the front court. we cant count on mihm or powell. this is a time when having ronny would be nice... then it would be a lot easier to let lamar go

I was at the Heat game vs the Hawks the other night and couldn't help but notice that the Hawks are loaded with perimeter players at the 3 (J. Smith, Horford, M. Williams)...

just wondering.

I think we sould stand pat unless we can move Walton and/or Radmanovic. I don't want to move them just to move them either. I would only move them if it would help us. I like Walton and Radmanovic, they both bring something to the game that we could use, Luke's passing and Vladimir's shooting. If we can't move those two for a better player than I rather stand pat.

the problem w these 2 cats is that they do not bring their goods to the table consistantly. More often they bring their lazy, unathletic as$es and are either overpowered or out quicked.

4, 10 and 7 are all over paid.

If we give up luye+vlad - that would take up too much of our roster i think..
For LO? i might bite... but i would hate to lose the core we have. Maybe shake things up a little. Trade mihm lol. jk
