Marbury To Attend Knicks-Lakers Game As Fan?

Is it me or is this guy showing interest in the Lakers, Its obvious, he stated he wants to play for a W/C team, a team thats going to be contenders.
He doesnt need the money, we need a solid P.G with strong Defensive presence, and now he is coming to the Knicks/Lakers game as a fan............ A FAN, Haaaaaaaaaa
We know the Knicks Org. has told him to stay away from the Knicks, and if he does show up with no invite then basically he is break the leagues rules.
If he is there and he is at the game, then he has been invited and if he has been invited then my guess is by Mitch or Buss since they could be looking at him as a player interested in a team.

Despite being banned from the Knicks, Stephon Marbury is reportedly thinking about attending Tuesday night's game in Los Angeles against the Lakers as a fan.

Marbury told The New York Post last week he was headed for a two-week West Coast vacation.

How is his defense these days? I honestly haven't watched the guy play in ages, but if he can help in that department, might as well throw the minimum his way. I don't particularly like Marbury as a person, but he does seem like a good triangle fit. If there's nothing to lose by signing him for peanuts, then we might as well do it. We have one of the worst PG rotations in the league already so I certainly don't think we can do any worse.

Plus, we'd have a "thug" on the roster which only helps us in the soft department. lol...

PS: I'd have it such that Marbury is playing minutes behind Fisher until chemistry is worked out. That's a considerable upgrade at reserve PG if you ask me. Screw all the "cancer" talk. If he does in fact turn out to be a cancer (unlikely considering he'd be on a contender and not the Knicks) then we just let him go. No harm done.

Yeah I wouldn't take Marbury on this team. Phil's already stated when talking about this current team he, "didn't sense the urgency and dedication at them that he felt while coaching the Chicago teams that won six championships in the 1990s." With the reputation and baggage Marbury has developed, I don't see how he would remedy that problem.

The Boston Celtics are one of a handful of teams, according to sources close to the situation, who have expressed interest in embattled Stephon Marbury if the point guard is bought out by the New York Knicks.

Marbury, who was told by the Knicks earlier this month to stay away from the team until a resolution is arranged, has also fielded interest from Miami, Dallas and the Los Angeles Lakers, according to league sources.

Most of the teams are offering the minimum salary for the rest of the season, according to one source. The Celtics could offer the remainder of the mid-level exception, which is approximately $2 million, but that’s highly unlikely since the addition would wind up costing Boston $4 million since they are over the luxury tax.

Marbury, 31, could be bought out of his $22 million deal by the Knicks – where he has spent the last five years after being traded in 2004. There’s little chance that Marbury plays another game in a Knicks uniform.

Celtics boss Danny Ainge, according to the source, is legitimately interested in bringing Marbury on board because of his ability to handle pressure defenses – an area where backup Eddie House has struggled.

Marbury was an All-Star in 2001 and 2003 while with the New Jersey Nets and averaged 13.9 points and 4.7 assists in 24 games last season in New York. However, he has clashed with former coaches Larry Brown and Isiah Thomas since arriving in New York and hasn’t played a game for new coach Mike D’Antoni after losing the starting point guard job to Chris Duhon prior to the start of the season.

Ainge believes the locker room is strong enough – with veterans Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen – to handle the addition of the enigmatic Marbury.

The Celtics have won 14 straight games and are off to the best start in franchise history at 22-2, but Ainge is someone who rarely sits pat if he feels as though there’s an opportunity to improve the team.

Hmmm maybe the first thing that actually makes me consider him. But you know- they can handle him being a pain in the ass, we seem to have a sensitive psyche. Gamble for sure, but maybe one that pays off. I really can't remember his D for some reason... that and toughness are probably the only two reasons I'd have him.

Phil can just call him his pet project like Rodman (success) and Kwame (fail). Maybe Phil will get off Vlade's back and play with Mabury instead.

Ya but the Cs have Rondo and House at playing the point.
And they are looking to add Tumbo.
They have to clearup a someone on their roster to get one of these guys in there so it becomes a pick and choose.
Do you need help backing up your centers or your P.G?
And if you do then who are you going to let go.
Also Im not too worried about the Cs going after S.M since he clearly has indicated that he like to play in the West and why come to LA and go to a game that your Org. has told you to stay away from without being invited?
If he is invited then why and who invited him?
Also if you have noticed............ Marbury and K.G are suppose to be BOYZ right?
Then why is it that K.G hasnt even talked about Marbury or supported Marbury to come to Boston?
I mean if you recall Shaq did that with G.P and Karl Malone and they werent even boys.

If Marbury sits courtside in full game gear (warmups, jersey, shoes, etc), it might very well be the best thing ever.

Funny sh** from the knicks board about this.

Brad Lohaus wrote:I really hope he does show up. There are so many different things that can go down. I could see him heckling Q and calling him out the entire game. Kinda like when Mr. T called Rocky out in Rocky III.

Walsh: Why don't you get the hell out of there?
Marbury: Shut up, Old Man! I ain't goin' nowhere. Why don't you all these nice folks why you been duckin' me? Politics, man. This country want to keep me down. Keep everybody weak. They don't want me to have the title because I'm not a puppet like that fool up there.
Q: You know, you got a big mouth, you know?
Marbury: Well, why don't you come down here and close it, Richardson? Come on. Come on.
Marbury: I pity the fool!

Marbury: I'm the baddest man in the world.
Q: You don't look so bad to me.
Marbury: What did you say, Paper Champion? I'll beat you like a dog, a dog, you fool!

Marbury: [Calling to Brandy; Smooth talks] Hey, Woman. Hey, Woman! Listen here. Since your old man ain't got no heart, maybe you like to see a real man. I bet you stay up late every night dreamin' you had a real man, don't ya? I'll tell you what. Bring your pretty little self over to my truck tonight, and I'll show you a real man.

having starbury couldn't hurt. he is a vet,who can still attaack the basket and hit the outside jumper. plus he is strong.
