how do you feel the game will go? I think our guys will show up for a bit, but this road trip will kill them. their heart will be in it for once, but it wont be enough.

I have to be honest and say that I think it will be a massacre. We are talking about a team that just got beat by Miami Heat and almost lost to Knicks at home couple of days ago going up against the strongest and hottest team in the NBA. We'd be lucky if we can hang in there for two quarters. I don't know what their problem is, but this team is playing like they flat out don't give a crap and they are going to get their asses handed to them by the Celtics to remind them that they haven't accomplished anything to be this careless.

celtics by 10+
pierce has a point to prove that hes better than kobe. obviously kobe cant guard him in the post. rajon rondo is gona run wonders around farmar and fisher, unless phil jackson is smart enough to put trevor ariza on him(which i highly doubt)
odom and gasol will have good games. kobe will force too many shots, and perkins will prove hes actually better and more underrated than bynum.
the celtics are more legit than last year. the lakers are nowhere near as focused as last year. sorry guys but you wont have a major trade "rejuvinate" you this time....EXPECT A BLOWOUT, BUT MERRY X-MAS

Na........... I think we will win.
It seem our teams biggest problem is we take weaker teams very lightly.
We need to go after everyteam with respect that they can beat us every night and were not doing that, and its hurting us.
But I thik well do just fine.

It will be the worst Christmas ever. If the Celtics dominate us which they probably will as a statement, then come chnages better be made. Even if we do make it to the finals this year it will probably be a waste of time because its not like we can beat the celtics with the way were playing.

I say Lakers win this one. I have a bet on it, too. lol
But really, I just want to see them play a certain way; that is, I want us to be aggressive, as physical as we can possibly be (like, take a flagrant early in the game and knock somebody on their ass...not dirty, but send a message), have a mentality that we are underdogs (because we are, and rightfully so), play defense first, defensive rebound the hell out of the ball (that means Bynum sweeps boards and we gang-rebound like its the 4th quarter of game 7 of the finals), and not have Kobe out at the 3-point line as much as possible.
That Celtic D is so perfectly set-up to slow down wings who run the offense. We need Kobe off-the ball. That'll help his effectiveness. I think we do that by really trying to get inside by using the pass. That Celtic D rewards (for lack of a better term) player movement and penetrative passing, meaning its less effective as a team defense if the ball goes inside in a way other then a wing driving. Usually, all eyes are focused on that wing player with the ball at the top or on the wing, or even the midpost. If the ball goes into the paint, they can't react as fast to ball movement/player movement, etc as a team.
If we play that way and lose, that's fine. I won't be worried too much. If we win and play that way, I'll be happy, but it's only the regular season, so I won't put much stock in it, except it shows our potential. If we win and play the way we usually do, the win won't do us any good, and I'll be pissed (except for the win, and the negligible 1 win it adds to our record...plus me bet lol). If we play like we usually do and lose, at least we'll be exposed and hopefully forced to improve.

I cant believe this from my brothers............. B.S
It actaully breaks my heart and pisses me off reading this.

any night? how about tonight and last night. it is not about not having loyalty or not loving the team. it is about recognizing where we stand in an objective manner and not letting the Homer in us tell us everything is honky dory when it's not.

That's true T-Money, but we ain't playing against Boston or the elites every night. We gotta start kicking the sh*t outta other teams in the mouth game in and game out because lesser teams shouldn't even be in games with us, and that's what is pissing people off here lately.

Lakers have been playing to the level of their competition. They will be up for the Celtics game for sure, and it will be a tight one. Losing Farmar hurts, hopefully the Lakers get someone for depth purposes quickly.

what the hell is going on out there in la-la land? I was pumped to watch the epic Celtics/Lakers matchup on Christmas day and the Lakers have been droppin games left and right. What the heck? I read an article a while back that the Lakers sit around TV's and watch the Celtics play. Are they this mentally soft that they can't focus on a game at a time... or did their kushy schedule just inflate their early win/loss record? I'm disappointed. As far as I'm concerned that Christmas game is now severely watered down. Either the Lakers pull off a win and it doesn't matter (they have already proven to be a weaker team)... or the Celtics beat them as expected. Lame
