LOS ANGELES (AP)—Lakers guard Jordan Farmar will miss at least three games because of a knee injury he sustained in Friday night’s 89-87 loss to the Miami Heat.
Farmar went for a layup in the fourth quarter and landed awkwardly. He had an MRI exam Saturday in Florida that showed a tear in the meniscus of his left knee. The Lakers said Farmar will fly back to Los Angeles on Sunday and will be examined Monday by a team doctor.
Farmar won’t play on the rest of the Lakers’ road trip, which includes Saturday’s game against Orlando, Monday in Memphis and Tuesday in New Orleans.

At least 3 games....
We'll see if he gets playing time, and if he does hopefully he doesn't turnover the ball trying to bring it across court.

Nope, Sasha's getting the playing time which is the right move. If he could just knock down shots it would have been seen as a great move since Sasha played very well defensively and sometimes length is what matters most in today's NBA.

Jackson said nothing was decided yet as far as adding another guard.
"We still have to find out what the deal is going to be with Jordan," he said. "This is something that's not defined yet."
If need be, the Lakers can pick up Coby Karl, who played for them last season and is familiar with the offense, or Joe Crawford, their second-round pick in the June draft. Both players are in the Development League and able to sign with any NBA team.
Karl is averaging 16.4 points and 5.4 assists for the Idaho Stampede. Crawford is the fifth-leading scorer in the Development League, averaging 22 points and 3.6 assists for the D-Fenders, the Lakers' affiliate.
Other veteran possibilities might include Jannero Pargo, who is playing overseas, and Tyronn Lue, who is getting scant playing time in a crowded point-guard situation with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Really? What went wrong? Did you see him against team USA during the Olympics? He laid out both Kobe and Wade with some slick crossovers.

I'd be down for Crawford. Good to see he's doing well in the D-League.

Blessing in disguise? Well shouldn't be so but it does allow the coaches to look at Sasha at the point for more time and might facilitate a trade or a free agent pick up with the MLE, which might both help alleviate the PG woes.

I swear injuries bite us every year. 2 years ago it started with Odom, Luke, Kwame, Vlad snowboardi g, mihm, etc. Last year it was Bynum, ariza, and Gasol. This year Farmar is the first to volunteer for the list, will the domino effect continue? Not like we are setting the world on fire either so a domino effect could mean bad news.

It's kind of a shame that Farmar would get injured right now. I know it's only one game, but I saw a different player out there against the Heat. That talk with Phil Jackson seems to have lit a fire under his ass because he was playing some excellent (smart) defense. Too bad we didn't get a chance to see if it would be a sustained effort.

Why not the Celtics ?! I wish someone out there got injured too to slow down a little bit.

"We're really looking at someone that can help Fish manage his time," Jackson said. "The number of quick, small guards in the league right now has increased significantly, so we'll probably look at someone's quickness and speed, not size."
So, there is hope.
