.... Checked it myself... the Lakers are 22-1 when Bynum blocks a shot.

here we were all worried about pg defense and all that when the key to success is bynum blocking a shot

So if Bynum blocks a shot tomorrow we have a win?

Lol... What that means is Bynum's activity is a telling indicator if we win or not. Sometimes Bynum cannot be active on D when the PGs expose him to foul trouble, when he plays less minutes, or if he is simply not aggressive. Bynum's level of impact is that big.

That's what drives me crazy about Bynum. He can have such a huge impact on our defense if he would just commit himself to that role and not worry about trying to be a 20/10 type player, which is obviously a pipe dream considering the team he's on. It blows me away how many wide open layups/dunks opposing teams are getting against us, and while some of that blame falls on our guards, an equal amount has to fall on Bynum (or our bigs in general). Half the time Bynum isn't even aware that our guards are forcing their guards baseline which is what they are clearly being instructed to do, so a lot of these easy buckets fall on his shoulders as well as Gasol's. There is no way a team with 2 7-footers should be allowing so many easy points in the paint.

Last night Bynum seemed to finally concentrate on defense. We need him to be the man. Our brass.

Let's hope he keeps it up.

it all depends on our bynum handles being dragged away from the action in the paint and how he shows on screen and rolls

I think that Bynum staying out of foul trouble is crucial to the Lakers winning or even just being competitive with the Celtics. He can't get those ticky tack fouls and I'm meaning if Pierce/Rondo/Allen beat their man I say Bynum concedes the basket and not try to block it. If Bynum can just stay out of the circle and be a road block that will be more than enough. Just alter shots with his length, stay on the ground!

One basket is not equal to one foul, he's got to know that.......

Bynum needs to play with the bench where he will be matched against weaker centers.. It is a mistake to start him so early especially when he lacks the basics required for his position... With starters every mistake he makes he picks up fouls and that affects his playing time..

Last game in New orleans he was put in with the bench after 2 quick fouls and got most of his points with them.. I would like to see more of this..

When Kobe shoots 22 times or less, Lakers are 15-0.
