8 man rotation--10 day contracts....

The Lakers' are down to 8 men basically because they don't use Yue, Mihm or Benga. I think it is a little early to be dumping the heavy minutes on Fish and Kobe for that matter.
Why not take a 10 day contract on Darius Miles, he is a slashing SF that can finish. Plus if he plays in 2 more games the Blazers' have to anti up 9 million this year and 9 next year so it is a win win.
Even a 10 day guy like a Coby Karl or one of the D leagues best pg's I'm sure their is someone out their. You got Odom, Walton and Farmar out so why not take a shot at a 10 day--if for nothing else just a couple of minutes here or their.

i would be willing to bet that Miles will be picked up by someone and will get those two games
and i agree that something needs to be done, because depth is one of our major assets and right now we just don't have it
the minutes are going to start piling up

I'm pretty sure the front office is thinking of something... but of course we'll probably won't know until it happens... that's before the rumor mill starts to roll hehe
we're pretty thin right now but doing well thus far. Yeah, i say sign coby or maybe darius to a 10 day contract instead (only because i want to put that dagger on the Trailblazers salary cap hehe).
but an 8 man rotation is not good.. we need more coverage.

I think its a terrible idea to sign Darius Miles just to stick it to the Blazers -- bad business if you ask me.

it was bad business for them to sign him in the first place for that amount.
Besides, i don't think he's that bad of a player... just that he has a bad judgment of character.
He was awesome when he was playing for the clips.

I think the concern is Kobe, Gasol and Fish will have to average close to 40 minutes a game if they are gonna try and push to win every single game. And I'm sure that is how Phil coaches. Even Bynum is not 100 % to run up and down for 40 minutes. I don't see why Mihm hasn't got a little burn. The other side of a thin rotation is that guys who are in the lineup and making dumb ass plays have to stay in because they have no one else like Vlad and more recently Sasha who likes to foul people on the three point line w/ the shot clock near the end.
Are the Lakers' really concerned about money that they can't get someone in for 10 days for a shot. The need a ball handler from either the PG or SF position to let some guys take a rest. Even if they blow some one out with an 8 man rotation they will be stuck w/ giving some starter heavy minutes.
You might say that they will have Odom and Walton back soon but what is the sense of rushing injuries to these guys, give them an extra week or so. We are only into the first third of the season and all ready the starters are having to work OT just to keep up w/ the Warriors.

Little worried about karma if we signed Miles just to spite the Trailblazers, but I would take a shot at him to actually play. He had a couple blocks in only about 5 minutes with the Grizzlies.
