Key Matchup of the Game

ImageVs:Image
Andrew Bynum vs Dwight Howard

The star of the Orlando Magic is "Superman" Dwight Howard and unfortunately for Drew, he's a beast. I think this is the key to the game. If Dwight goes off for 25 and 20, I don't think we'll have much chance at winning. Andrew has to body him up and do so without getting in foul trouble. Hopefully the referees let the big guys bang inside and not call chippys as they did when the Lakers played in Orlando. Drew has to watch out for the Alley-Oop dunks, and he has to box out Howard and keep him off the boards. Drew also has to get on the boards himself, only averaging 5 rebounds the last 10 games. On the offensive end, go at Howard. Try to get him into foul trouble, and make him work on the defensive end.

Key To A Lakers Win

Game Tempo: I think we have to keep a good mix, and get the game to our tempo. When transition opportunities are there, we have to exploit them and our big guys especially, have to get down the court in a hurry. When it's not there, we can't force it. And when we run back on transition defense, besides Andrew on Dwight, we have to run to the 3 point line, not the basket.

Pound The Ball Inside: A huge key to the game. Pound the ball into Pau and Andrew early. Gasol will be guarded by Rashard Lewis on most occasions, and Pau has to exploit that. He's not big or strong enough to hang with Pau down low on the box. When Drew gets touches, he has to attack Dwight Howard and see if we can get a couple early fouls called on Dwight.

Perimeter Defense: The biggest key to the game. Orlando is an outside shooting team. They've lined up the roster with 3 point shooters, and we have to play good perimeter defense. The Magic hit an NBA record 23 three pointers in a rout against Sacramento on Tuesday night. If something even similar to that happens, I REALLY do not like our chances. If we can keep their long bombs respectable, about 6-9 makes, than we have a good shot. Outside of Howard, they have no inside game whatsoever.

Crap another 3pt shooting team. I can't wait for the guards to over collapse and watch the easy 3's going in like it was practice. The worst offenders: Kobe #1(what's up with that? his d has been awful), Rad#2 (he switches for no reason out of the blue), Fish(he doesn't seem to trust our bigs)

That being said, redemption win both for the Spurs game and to avenge our last meeting with Orlando.

looking for some big minutes for Sun....

after we are up by 25.

Good luck Laker fans, not that you will need it. It will be a tough game for the Magic, since you guys will want revenge for our last matchup. Just hoping the Magic can keep those 3's raining all night long :D

Magic fan here, looking forward to tonights game, should be a great one. I do have to respectfully disagree with your assessment of our team, especially when you say Shard can't hang with Pau down low. The entire league and it's fan base know that Pau is particularly soft, and tends to flop when being outplayed. Shard has done a great job on defending guys like Brand, Bosh, and the immortal Matt Bonner (ok, last one was a joke), this season. What makes you think Pau can out muscle him?

Also, no inside game is false as well. Shard has shown his Sonics inside game this year, and has while still being a deadly 3pt shooter, has been driving to the basket and hitting turnaround jumpers left and right.

Good luck tonight :D

Yeah, but also, if you were a Laker fan, you would also know that Pau has been a lot more "tough" this year. I was just meaning he can't hang or defend Pau's overall game as much as some of the recent players that have been guarding him (Duncan, Yao, etc). Pau has been pretty good inside, but Rashard is long, and that will help him alot.

lewis for the most part held gasol to 11pts last meeting, the magic need to do the same and get bynum in foul trouble in order to have a good shot at winning, this should be a great game looking forward to it, good luck (only after this game)

This is probably the worst team we could play right now. Hopefully they're missing they're shots because the way we've been playing defense lately, there is no way we even slow them down. Hopefully, I'm wrong though. Never thought I would ever say that, but I definitely hope I'm wrong.

Getting healthier!

Sasha Vujacic and Luke Walton participated in the Lakers' shoot-around this morning and are listed as probable for tonight's game against the Orlando Magic.

Yea the thing about that is we dont live by "J's" we live by "Trey's" and Dwight. Its better than living by Kobe and Dying by Kobe in my opinion.
