I saw and met Kobe at The Sports Club LA

Post#1 » by Minhee » Sun Jan 18, 2009 4:27 am

Just wanted to share that cause I always wanted to run into this guy. I waved to him from afar and he waved back back and smiled at me. Later I walked by the smoothie bar and and chit chatted with him for about 15-20 seconds lol. He went upstairs with his trainer and I didn't see him again, i so wanted to follow him all day. It made my morning and I was star struck all day long. Membership to that club is $135 per month and people in there looked like they walked around with a stick up their you know what. Nobody even cared that Kobe was there, everybody had that I am the ish look on their face. I guess that is why Kobe goes there because he would never get bothered. Too bad my free week of membership will end next weekend =(. Ok that is all, feel free to lock cause I know this was pretty pointless lol.

I once shook hands with Samaki Walker. I've never been the same since.

So did you give Kobe a piece of your mind on how badly the Lakers have been playing.

j/k, sounds pretty cool though.

Mamba, you must be loaded haha. They told me the initiation fee is $650 just to process your papers and $135 per month. It is state of the art but valet parking at a gym, waterboy bringing you water while working out is all luxury that I can live without.

KB8, I have been wanting to meet Kobe for the longest time, all my anger towards the team went out the window when I saw him haha. If I ever see him again I hope I can get a picture with him.

 I saw him grocery shopping in San Antonio way back, and I didn't even bother.

I did, however, take the opportunity to shake Robert Horry's hand when I saw him at Best Buy. Just a real quick "thank you" for helping win three championships.

Yeah Rob is a cool dude, I met him in the Forum Club back in 99 when the Lakers had just dusted off the Knicks.

If I ever meet Marbury I would hate to shake hands with him, I hear he is Cancer.

1...2..." Mamba, are you going to the inaguration ? Your wife is hot! How's your finger ? Why can't AB17 get a rebound ? Will you please teach Vlad Rad what it means to be between your man and the basket at all times? I don't think he knows. Dude I think you were on the treadmill for over 20 minutes bro, that's just wrong! Will you ever lift your restraining order on Star24 ? Do you have an extra towel on you, I forgot mine ? Wanna play 1 on 1, I'm really good. Dude will you spot me ? "...19...20 seconds.

I use to work there and Kobe has been training at The Sports Club for YEARS.

Pickup basketball is crazy over there, I really miss it. When I was working, Sugar Shane Mosley and AC green would play pretty frequently. Nothing is more satisfying than drilling a 3pointer in the face of a former NBA player.
