I think it's a great idea to utilize it in our offense since we have so many bigz. If done right, it'll be hard to defend. Look how hard it is to defend the single alley-oop already. Adding the double makes it harder. Plus they don't have to Alley-oop it to a dunker, they can just shift it to an outside shooter. This brings back the nba jam days LOL.
Backboard anyone...? But i think it's not as safe as the alley-oop unless you have a clear path to the basket..

Lobs are hard to do too. Like the Jordan fadeaway of the Kareem jumpshot. It is unguardable but it is harder to pull off. Plus if you have a path to the dunk in the first lob why not dunk it in. It does not make sense.

to the OP, have you ever played organized basketball?? cuz if you had u would've known just trying to pull that off would cause ud to make a ton of stupid unnecesary turnovers

to answer your question. yes, junior high, high school, street.. etc...
And i'm not telling everyone to do the double alley-oop.. These are "Pros" that i'm referencing here. People that have played bball all their life and playing in the NBA, i never reference average joes like us to do this.. are you crazy? i can barely dunk myself lol hehe.
How hard would it be to defend that - probably hard. Turnovers.. of course if you keep on doing over and over again. You don't see Chris Paul Alley-ooping every play do you but i've noticed him using that play a lot as well as Dwight Howard and you all gotta admit it's a high percentage shot
And i'm not saying to double alley-oop and dunk. You can double-alley opp and pass as well. If a play was drawn out and players know where to stand. The opposing defenders wouldn't know who has the ball.. and by the time they know where it is.. the player should have a clear view of the basket by then.
and again, i'm only suggesting to have it as part of our arsenal.. Not our main go-to play to use.

Just guessing, but I think it's probably easier to pull something like that off against a bunch of over-matched, six-foot high school kids that seasoned NBA professionals.

The writer of that article is forgetting one thing.... In volleyball, there is a net that the opponents can't cross. They can toss that ball and fake all they want until they decide who spikes it. In the NBA, it's a freaking turnover if you try to be that fancy.

in the NBA, the first guy to catch it would get criticised for not dunking it in the first place
