Kobe Bryant Appreciation....
I just wanted to post this because i feel that us laker fans dont appreciate what we have in kobe bryant. We just take it for granted what he does night in and night out. But the reality is no team has a player like this, a player that can go off for 60 any night or change his style of game play to match what the team needs. Even a player like kobe has nights where his shots are off but that is rare, and we gotta stick with him, i remember at the beginning of the season when kobe wasn't shooting well and everyone was bashing him.
PLEASE ENJOY WHAT WE HAVE NOW BECAUSE HE GIVES HIS ALL FOR THIS TEAM.....

any laker fan that bashes Kobe should be ashamed of themselves. The man is unbelievable and one of the two greatest players ever to play the game.

I especially appreciate his smart way of play..ex: preserving his body for all these years yet he is a durable beast! just look at those other stars like tmac/arenas/houston...they arent the same after injuries. We are definitely spoiled here in LA!

I appreciate him every moment he puts on a Lakers jersey and he's honored and taken pride in whatever he did for the lakers. Great player and one of the best ever.

No OP we appreciate him but it's not what is needed to win a championship. He got 20 points off the FT line, and it was not a team performance. He's the greatest and we love him for being a LAL and busting ass, but we want a team dominated performance on both ends, and if that happens Kobe can do whatever it takes to get the win wherever he's needed instead of carry the whole team on his back for victories with huge point totals.

Re: Kobe Bryant Appreciation....
When he retires the Lakers better release a DVD box set of his 100 best games. Laker fans will long for the good old of days. This is one of the best teams ever.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

As long as these 60 point games result in wins, we're golden.

So you're saying that the day the team gets the news about Bynum, is probably a little down, and Kobe dons the cape and tells them 'I'm still here to lead this team to a championship, I won't let us lose' and does it in a very efficient manner is a bad thing?
Come on. When he is that hot and the defense is that bad that he's playing against sometimes I think he should take every shot lol. With this team he doesn't have to but when its there why not?
Its not just what Kobe does on the court too, there may not be a guy in the league that works as hard, competes as hard, trains as hard in the off season, works on his game as much as Kobe. You have to admire a guy like that, especially in this day and age of multi million dollar guys who don't try half as hard. Its disgusting, but Kobe earns every cent of it.
On the court... The guy is amazing. We've had 10 years of him constantly, consistently, doing things in games, hitting more late game, high pressure, clutch shots then anyone I've ever seen. Seriously, guys hit big shots a lot, but the amount and consistency and type of shots he makes is unbelievable if you look back on it. Some hate his style, his demeanor, attitude, whatever but you have to appreciate what he really does. Too many out there have no idea how the triangle works and the positions he starts in and his expectations when catching in those positions. He's not a top of the key, break the defense down guy all game like PGs. We've seen what he can do when that happens at times. Kobe is a great and willing passer most of the time. We have no idea what the coaches tell him in practice and film sessions. Too many people never saw countless games of Kobe dishing out great passes to Kwame Brown and Slava Medvendenko and the like and wonder why he didn't get more assists or stopped passing at times. We don't have any idea what its like to know you can get your shot and score whenever you want and that 90% of the time it probably is the true best option to get a hoop. Its a fine line at that point. I don't envy that position. He's always been in that position where nomatter what he seems to do someone has fault, something he does is wrong. Yes he's had some things happen on and off the court but for the most part he's been a great citizen and a great professional. A millionaire at 18 and a life under a microscope being constantly compared to the GOAT... what can you really expect from the guy. He's intelligent and well rounded for a pro athlete and while I will never claim to know the guy I can bet that he's a pretty decent husband and dad. We'll never really know that unless Vanessa writes a book or something. The thing is I don't think he's every really tried to make people like him, I think all he's ever really done is try to be the best basketball player ever.
I watched all of Jordan's career and all of Kobe's and I don't want to get in that debate, but you can't deny that he's right there regardless of who you think is better. But not only is Kobe one of the two or 3 greatest basketball players of all time, but he may be one of the top few athletes of all time. It has been, and will be a pleasure to see everything he did and will do from here out. I for one won't take it for granted...

Re: Kobe Bryant Appreciation....
Best in the game period. But the media don't give him any love what so ever, except for the ex-players that actually no how good he is. You see GP and C Webb talking him up, along with Barkley but outside of that you get the ESPN bull with writers that haven't ever picked up a ball.
He gets no hype. He plays through injuries that most players would sit out for. He does all that is asked of him on both ends of the floor. Like who else takes D Wade full court for the full game and then asks to guard Lebron for the full game. I know MJ was an awesome defensive player but for me their was no one as good as D Wade or Lebron in his era for him to match up with.
He gets 3 or 4 games with 10 plus assists and they win. Media asks what happened to Kobe and his great scoring is he over the hill, because he was a high-schooler, too many miles on the legs? What a joke!!!
Same media, Kobe goes for 61 in a victory, Kobe being selfish again--not getting teammates involved. Like a complete disrespect IMO from the media.
It was amazing period and he is the best in the game and I can't wait for all the Kobe haters to get in line and bow down at his 4th Championship and once and for all--start to eat some of Kobes A**.
Much luv for the # 24 -- hall of famer--best in the world. Keep digging Kobe your gonna get their.

Re: Kobe Bryant Appreciation....
I definitely agree that Kobe is way under appreciated by the Media (especially the ones that haven't ever played before). I mean - it should count for a whole hell of a lot when guys like GP, CWebb, and Barkley are praising Kobe for what he does on the court.
And, I've always repsected Kobe and his game... but my admiration for him went through the freaking roof when he dislocated the ring finger (on his shooting hand no-less) and didn't even come out of the game against the Cavs. KB24 just had the best athletic trainer (Vitti) in the universe yank his finger back into its socket and then went on to out-perform Lebron.
Kobe going for 61 in the Garden was his way of telling the rest of the league that he is ready to lead his team to victory. However, I don't think that he's going to get tunnel vision and try to hoist up 30 shots a game. Kobe is too smart of a player to do that... I just hope that the rest of guys are ready to step up their games while AB17 is rehabbing that bum knee.
