Just a general ?

Post#1 » by B_Y_N_U_M » Sun Feb 8, 2009 3:25 am

I heard them talking last night on ESPN before the games and I know that this is just the guys chattering cuz it's their job, but Avery and crew stated that they tought Spurs and Nuggets were LA's biggest competition in the west.................

WELL, can anyone explain the Nuggets getting their butts whooped by 44 points by the Nets?

44 pts. You gotta be kidding me...........I know everyone has an off night but if u wanna compete against the Lakers, Your gonna have to do better than this.....44 points and you want to compete for a Western Conference title?

Please LA will whoop you in 4 or 5 games..............not Nostradomus or anything but Damn........44 points to the NETS? Wow.......

The Celtics beat up the Kings by like 45. The same team ( Kings) beat us.

Its not that big of a deal.

A healthy Houston or Utah will be more competition than the Nuggetts.

Key word: Healthy. Houston will never be healthy, with T-Mac and Yao, two extremely injury-proned players as their main guys.

I know it is not that big of a deal...........like I said, everyone can have an off night..................

But contenders in the West in a 7 game series? Anything can happen, but let's be honest...........You wanna compete every night, but a lose like that. Don't think they stand a chance in a 7 game series.

^ What Phil 2.0 is saying is don't focus on the points. We get where you're coming from but you do have to throw that out of the window. On certain nights teams can get beat by wide margins. We beat the Spurs in 5 games last year in the WCF's but I'll bet you some of them were saying "we wouldn't have ever let the Celtics beat us by 39 points". Yet the couldn't even advance to the Finals. So it's 1 of those type of deals.

Spurs are the 2nd best team, but I think the Lakers have their number... Healthy Jazz are dangerous but they cant win on the road... I am not worried about the Nuggets at all

Nooooooo. I would be going nuts if it happened. I would defintely be at the game for the finals seeing that the Nets are in the same town I live in. I would be cheering for the Lakers because I dont even care about the Nets. The only time they are important to me is when the Lakers come to town. Hopefully Netsforce won't read this :D

I agree that the Spurs and Nuggets are our biggest threats in the West.

Most dangerous teams out West for Lakers

Spurs
Hornets
Jazz (if they get it together)
Houston (if they get it together)
Suns (if they get it together)

Blazers and Nuggets will be entertaining but you have to think Lakers can dominate series match up wise
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

The biggest treat in the West to me is the Lakers.
The only team that can beat us is US.
There isnt any team out there thats better than LA, and if we play the way we have been playing I doubt the Spurs, Nuggets or any other team can even matchup to our depth or our core players.
