Luke 19 minutes = Bynums 1 block.

Yeast in bread, I guess.
Trading Radmanovic was truly addition by subtraction, then.

not trying to say anything bad but that 15 and 0 stat could be miss leading.... he only started starting not to long ago maybe a lot of those wins were earlier in the year when lakers were blowing teams out and he was playing garbage time... either way it is a cool stat

To me that stat means we were blowing them out and he got some quasi-garbage time. Did you know we are 1-0 when Adam Morrison gets at least 4 minutes? Yeah true story... true story.

With Luke starting: 20-4
With Radman starting: 21-6
With Ariza starting: 1-0
Luke is no more a factor in how the team plays than anyone else we've played at that position this season. We have had the best offense in the league virtually the entire season, so with or without Luke starting we're a great team.
Luke does bring some nice play-making to the table, but he also brings poor shooting and rebounding.
Radman brought great 3-point shooting (floor spacing) and better rebounding, but he was not a very good play/decision-maker.
I don't see much of a difference in defense either way.

That's how I feel.
I'd have to have somebody a hell of a lot smarter than I am -- which probably isn't saying much -- break down film and show me exactly how Luke supposedly makes us better, because I don't see it.
I'd take him 10 times over 10 times over Radmanovic. I generally like Luke's effort. He plays for the team and he at least tries on defense. But rather than actually helping us, Luke's biggest contributions seem to come when he isn't noticeably hurting us.
Basically, Ariza has settled nicely into his role off the bench, and somebody has to start. So Luke, pretty much by default, gets the nod.

I agree w/ Semi-sentient...
misleading stats on a good team. Partially in blowouts he will get additional mins to help facilitate in the offense. BTW, whats our stats w/ Sun Yue in the game?? someone help me out...

I don't know if it's as irrelevant as we're making it seem. Luke's first 19+ minutes game was December 10th against Phoenix. Every game before that he had either DNPs or spot minutes (with a MAX of 9:18 in the second game of the year).
So really Luke didn't play the first month and a half when blowouts would provide the most garbage minutes. I guess we have short memories, because he wasn't getting time at all.
Interesting thing I've noticed...Andrew Bynum's rebounding numbers were pretty bad for a stretch in the early to mid part of January. During that time Luke was out with one of his injuries, I can't remember which. But the day Luke came back (and started) Bynum had his 42 and 15 game. Then went on to that really solid stretch.
IMO, within the starting lineup, what Luke does is not only "play-makes" but a simple entry pass to our bigs. Really for our starters to be successful, we need to go inside and out, using the twin tower effect. If not, we just turn into a big, slow team. Luke at least feeds the beasts down low, which in turn helps our interior D.

hahaha look at sun's number's
we need to play him more!
2+ minutes= Lakers 6-0
1+ 3 point attempts = Lakers 6-0
1+ fouls = Lakers 5-0

Uh did you guys forget that when the Lakers were blowing out teams in the first quarter of the season, Radman was starting, and Luke barely got any minutes. I'm sorry, but you don't get 19+ garbage minutes a game. So Luke's contribution came after the blowout phase.

Our offense just runs smoother with Luke on the floor...
Not only does he pass but he seems to get the ball to people when they are in a position to score more than just about anybody except Pau.
He's not THE difference maker on our team and he may not even be a difference maker, but he does a lot to contribute to our success

when we can afford to play luke 19+ min, the team is either playing exceptionally well already or the opposing team is sucking. thus, 15-0.

I'll give props to the non-injured Luke, but please only 19+ mins within the first 40 minutes.

I'm just really glad that know one is implying that he is one of the most important players on this team, like mostly everyone was saying two years ago before he signed that deadweight contract... he is NOT.
