Anyone else worried Pau getting burned out?

I've noticed that Pau has been playing the whole 1st quarter and 4-5 minutes to start the 2nd quarter and then comes back in for 3-4 minutes to end the half. Then the same thing for the 2nd half.
Looked at his game log and he has been playing some big minutes.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/351 ... SwkR.OPKB4Since the MEM game, Andrew going down, his minutes have been up big time.
40:57
44:31
46:24
43:44
41:50
41:58
30:54 ATL blowout
43:13
48:41 OT vs NOH
That's some serious court time. He's not old being 28 (5 months from 29) but still I don't like him playing so many min's. If the Lakers lost Pau, it's a wrap.......

True but one thing I have noticed is players like Pau only get better and gel with more P.t.
I think he is doing well and there are no signs of him slowing down. At least for now.

He's not getting burned out, he doesn't exert enough physicality to be burned out.

So because he isn't "tough" he can't get burnt out?

It's not about physicality, it's about the simple act of exertion. He was complaining about feeling worn down after the Utah game, and that was when he was getting 34/35 minutes a night. I'll bet even Wilt would wear down getting minutes in the mid 40s in the modern NBA, let alone a non-stallion like Pau. Unfortunately for him and us, we're pretty much needing every one of those minutes at the moment. Here's hoping he's got enough left for the playoffs, or that Andrew can get back ASAP to lighten the load.

Hope the Kings waive Drew Gooden and he can play for the Lakers.

I am concerned about too manu minutes for Gasol also. Let Powell pick up an extra 3-5 minutes.

id still have the lakers wrap up HCA overall first before trying to limit pau's minutes
that said, we need to put away games earlier, much like the atlanta game in order to do that

i'm concerned, it's a lot of minutes
it would be nice to start rationing him off a little
but maybe it won't affect him much, he lifts the weights now

Pau is gonna get burned out for the playoffs and you know we cant win without him. We should sign Mikki Moore ASAP and he can give us efficient amount of minutes behind Gasol. Mikki will give us 10-15 mins a game and he will rebound on both ends of the floor. He would be a really nice edition for rest of the season. We can also give Antoine Walker a shot off the bench, maybe can still play and he can shoot the three. We should sign a decent big man ASAP.

+1. We need a big man who could play the 5. not just Pau, Odom would get burned out too. We need a Mikki Moore to give us a decent 15 minutes off the bench, limit Pau to about 30-35 min per game. Give Powell a couple more minutes, lessen the load on Odom as well.

I feel bad for Pau as for the rest of the reg. season he will be grinding it out w/ centres and taking a serious pounding. Then in the playoffs he will be matched up w/ Z or Perkins whoever makes the finals. I feel for ya Pau!
Lakers are still gonna win the championship though

Sad you guys have no idea of what "burn out" means. Yes I'm saying it again because obviously some are missing the meaning. Pau's game doesn't consist of constant banging in the post nor does he do a lot of backing down with the ball. He doesn't aggressively go after every rebound which further more means more banging of bodies.
How do you guys not see this ? Plus there are no teams with physical imposing center except Phoenix. For the last time you guys need to expect Pau to play these minutes until Drew gets back. That's the difference between this year and last..................Drew is coming back. Pau will be fine.

they play like 2 games a week in the playoffs. being exhausted shouldn't be a concern there.

That's true Pau doesn't do a lot of banging, except when he plays the Spurs and Duncan, the Rockets and Yao, Nuggets and Nene. That was the issue in the Finals vs Kendrick going up soft.
Anyway just cuz you don't bang all the time doesn't mean you don't get tired. Running up and down the court for 40+ minutes isn't what I would suggest to tune up for the playoff's. I don't see where he has to play those minutes. What is DJ for, getting into fights in practice? I think he can get 3-5 minutes a game and the Lakers don't fall apart. If they do then Pau is the MVP of this team and not Kobe......
