Derrick Rose: I actually play as the Lakers. I always play against my best friend Randall. He's got game, he can play a little bit, so I use the Lakers with Bynum and Gasol and try to establish that inside presence on him.

Well the Bulls have crappy big men, he's not dumb.

A 2K9 thread. Hmm, well I have played LIVE for years and this is the first year I crossed over to 2K9. I like it, but the shooting stick is a little maddening at times. I use MEM, ORL, usually before I use the LAL. Kobe is not easy to shoot with outside, I shoot almost exclusivly, but he dominates when he drives. When I use MEM OJ Mayo and Rudy Gay are excellent shooters, then you got Gasol inside and Hakim Warrick at PF who can hit mid range consistantly. Conley is underrated and a nice orchestrator of the team. To dominate with the LAL you really have to concentrate inside. ORL you just own inside with D12, he's by far the best big in the game.

So I'll use ORL or LAL if I'm playing a good team, otherwise I'll come with MEM. Anyone else want to share their steams they use. However, I may sell the game, because I take this game way too seriously and get way too pissed when I lose.

haha the majority of people (at least for online games) play as the Lakers, and I don't blame them. In terms of 2k9/Live09...I'm a Live guy. Live 09 is a serious improvement over the debacles that were 06 & 07. I had 2k6/7 (not sure, the one with shaq on the cover) and it was good, but only because Live that year was just horrendous.

I play Orlando or Portland vs. the good teams.
Chicago, NJ or OKC vs. the bad teams.

I play as a laker as well. No matter how crappy or super the team turns out to be.. i always pick the lakers. I remember playing as the lakers during the snes/sega years! lol

Wow ! I always pick the Lakers too ! IN Live 09, it's really cool to use the pick'n roll stuff so getting the ball inside to Pau or Drew to score the easy basket or to pass it outside where Lamar is deadly ( LOL ! ), plus the academy stuff is really nice !

What impresses me in the 2k9 is that I feel like I'm watching a game at times, with players moving so smoothly, the crowd getting pumped up and the realistic game atmosphere. In Live, I get bored sometimes, especially when leading by 40.

I remember when playing against the Celtics at home, it was my first ever in 2k series, so I had 3 quarters to figure it out. At the start of the 4th i was down by 12, but tied it with 4 minutes to go, man, the atmosphere and the crowd got so loud, just like in a real NBA game. That's what impressed me a lot !

So, 2k9 for the win !

I've been playing with Live since 2003 (Jason Kidd on the cover and introduction of "Freestyle Control"). I gotta say again though, 06 & 07 were the worst. That's why I went 2k7 (not 2k6) for that year.

Live 2000 was best Live ever, for many many reasons.

2k9 is simply superior right now

^^^did they fix that glitch where they don't inbound the ball after a made basket? I remember seeing a youtube vid on that.

I still play NBA Live 95 on SNES. Today's game controllers have like 6 or more buttons.. I don't know how kids do it

Wow, if 2K9 is better, than Live must be ****. I bought 2K9 after not having an NBA game since 2K5 and I was EXTREMELY disappointed. They don't even have the baller thing where you create your own dude, build his stats, etc. I was hoping they were gonna improve on that from 2K5 and allow him to get drafted, etc. 2K9 is garbage. The gameplay is nice, but the different modes is severely lacking.

lol, i play that from now than then too along with nba jam and nba hang time. if i had it i'd play kobe bryant nba courtside
