So today i was driving and my little brother friends calls me and says he is seating with AB 17 at my favorite piazza place. So i head over there and order a slice and drink and i grab a chair next to him and his friend i think. So at first i say whats up to him and he says what up back. Next he asks me if i am a student and I tell him I am at usc and i love it I ask him if he ever played ball with rozen and i said he is as bust, he starts laughing. Then he says he is only a freshman and i said so what, his friend brings up oj mayo and says which rookie averages 20 points a game and i said put andrew on a team like memphis and he would. Next i ask him how is knee was doing and i heard that he was riding the bike and and the oiltipical machine and i said time table for return and he said i hope three weeks. Next i asked him what he thinks about sasha and he laughed and said he is a good player. I said i hated him he whines after ever foul and then he started to laugh and thats when he said the team calls him special and i said special ed lol
Then after a bit more talking he said you come to the game alot and i said yeah i do and he said i see u all the time. He made my day after i asked him can i take a picture and he said yeah sure

Bynum is the man. You are one lucky bastard. I hope when the Lakers play in Jersey next month i get to meet him, kobe or ariza. I know Bynum is from jersey so maybe I would see him around like at the mall or someplace. Iive no less than 10 minutes from the Izod Center so hopefully I will get the chance to see the Lakers out somewhere in my area, that would be a great day.

That is freakin' awesome! Sounds like AB's pretty humble. I saw Amar'e in Vegas and he rudely brushed off a GIRL who wanted a pic.
Did AB really say he recognized you from Staples? I mean, did he really say he sees all the time at Staples or am I reading that wrong. Did you make that part up? Come clean, nobody will judge. lol.

Op I don't understand. He sees you all the time at the games?
You were kinda flippant with him. I prolly would have froze up. Or said something lame like AB17 I need you healthy I got you on both my fantasy squads. Man up, lol.
You know i might not have been that nervous around AB17. I'm not sure, but KB24 I would have been a basketcase, just the baddest man alive.

First of all, I call bull on this story, but, I digress.
It's unfair to call out Amare. Do you know how many times these dudes get asked for autographs and pictures? These guys have lives, one pic turns into hundreds--everywhere they go. They already have little free time as is -- and just want to be left alone when they're with their friends and family.
Them taking pics, and signing autographs, is a nice gesture -- I hate when people feel entitled to it.

Pretty kewl!, at least he was down to earth with you.
When i saw kobe at El Pollo Loco in Newport Beach, i just stood there and stared... i had kobe freight, my legs, arms, mouth wouldn't move until he just took off into the night. LOL
At least i waved!! and said GO KOBE! but no autographs, i didn't want to be some crazy tourist, plus he was with his kids.
Now that was kewl! Wish i had some proof though cuz my friends don't believe me. But that's ok, I know that made my day. lol

lmaof...............
Look at the Cavs fan with the kobe username talking ish on the O.P.
Dont attack the guy, he is right.
As far as Amare, yes he isnt too friendly either, I have met him in Vegas during SEMA trade show and lets say a certain friend of mine who owns a certain magazine had an after party for his company and a lot of hiphop artist as well as ball players where there, majority of the celebs were friendly cool and down to earth, but Amare and House were D.B and they didnt talk to anyone other than there peps and they werent friendly at all.
I have taken many many pics with players and celeberties and I can tell you that most of them are very humble and down to earth and they will actually go out of their way for a pic or auth.
But dont call the guy out, its unfair since you dont know what might have been going on with Amare that day, maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
Oh and one more thing the fame and fortune these guys have is because of their fans, and if they cant take a second to thank there fans with a simple pic or and auth then as time goes by they start losing their fan base, so yes it is there job to show appreciation to their fans, and like I said most celebs do that.

They don't owe anybody anything. Only a small handful of people in the world can do what they can and they're paid millions because of it.
After being a star for several seasons--I'm sure the chronic request for pics/autographs, is, sick-to-the-stomache-annoying.
You recognize them at a restaurant; what if they just got back from an event where some other fan spotted them, and they signed 500 autographs for 3 hours?
It's a nice gesture when they go out of there way, very nice, and should be appreciated tremendously.
I can't stand fans who feel entitled to it. Especially when it's adults who turn around and sell the stuff.

It's true what Tony said. Without us fans, there's no them. No miilions in their contract...etc..
Yes, they have talented but if nobody is there to watch them or see their talent.... what are they worth? nothing.. Why did they work so hard to get this far? The fame & fortune of course... and if they're sick of the auths, pics, etc.. why get into this business then..?
I think us paying them millions and us just getting auths or pics is a fair trade.. don't you think? (being sarcastic of course). In fact, sadly only a handful of us will see the day of having own any one of those..
We're not saying they have to slave over us. Just a nice "Wassup!" or "Sorry I'm busy" Just a word can say a lot about what we think of them.
Anyways, my Kobe experience was kewl, he gave me a nod when i said GO KOBE! Not even a word but a nod and that to me was enough. I'm a kobe fan for life regardless where he goes (hopefully lakers for life).

KobeFan -- agreed that fans shouldn't feel entitled to it. What I was referring with Amar'e (and I apologize it wasn't clear b/c I didn't have the time to explain myself completely) was his attitude. He dismissed this girl w/out even looking in her direction. Continued walking through the Ceasar's shops with his two buddies down the middle of the walkway (clearly wanting to be seen) with a very cocky, dismissive look and attitude to others who came up to shake his hand. He just wreaked of arrogance. Rubbed me the wrong way.
Tony -- I think what I just described is consistent with what you saw from Amar'e in Vegas. On the one hand, you can understand how it difficult it must be to maintain an ounce of humility when so much fame and fortune is thrown your way at an early age. On the other hand, it just makes me appreciate the ones that remain humble that much more (and even though Kobe is as cocky as it gets on the court, he must be recognized for how approachable he makes himself off the court).

If you didn't exist, microsoft, coca cola, mcdonalds, etc would all be out of businesses. There would be no economy. I don't understand the point you're trying to make.

my point is if you're saying they don't owe us anything... u're wrong.... If you want to bring the world into it, then that's fine as well, but the argument that you put forth was about bball players and their reaction towards their fans eh hem amare..
And I'm not talking about them owing us an autograph, a picture, memorbilia, money..etc for most fans, just a wave is enough when we see them... is that too much to ask?
And yes without us there's not microsoft, no micky dies, coke.. no economy durr. without us theirs no earth.. and without god there's no us..(if you believe in god that is) lol.
Anyways.. back to the topic "Greatest Day in my Life"
I waited in line in huntington beach for hrs to have a picture taken and auth with Trevor but
at the end let her take my place since she's a die hard fan of his. Seeing her teary up was priceless, that's a future laker fan right there i thought to myself.
- btw i had to pay just to see him, but i didn't mine, he was quite kewl, cuz when my niece told him i gave up my spot for her, he waved at me and i got an authograph BALL!!!!!

No, nobody owes you anything. Not a smile, not a wave, nothing. You're reimbursed--for your money--by being entertained, during the 2 1/2 hours they're on the court.
Anytime a player signs an autograph, takes a pic, makes a volunteer public appearance, etc. they're demonstrating a tremendous act of generosity and it should be appreciated as such.
If they don't feel like waving, they shouldn't have to. Sometimes they simply want to be left alone. And people should respect that, and not come on message boards, and whine about players who blow them off -- like those players owe them something.
