The Bench Mob

our bench mob has been inconsistant ever since Bynum went down. Farmar finally hit his usual second half of the season wall, Sasha is not attempting as many 3s as he should, instead he is trying to create his own shot and create for others unsuccessfully, and Ariza has slowed down some.

Powell and DJ are the only bright spots of our bench. so what is going on? we made some adjustments by moving Ariza to the starting line up and Luke back to the bench and it has made us a bit better, but I think we need to get back to the level where we were before the All Star game.

I think our Bench mob issues will turn around once Drew comes back (no diss on DJ intended), but I think the quicker Drew moves into the starting line up and Lamar back to the bench the better our bench will perform. for now I hope Luke "the band aid" Walton can keep the Bench Mob rolling.

discuss....

A while ago I posted that there's no way that Phil would put LO back on the bench that close to the playoffs but with the way he's playing lately maybe he will. I assummed that Lakers would build great chemistry before the the playoffs but the way it looks, Phil is changing up the lineup every other game  . With that being said maybe putting Bynum in back with the first unit isnt a bad thing after all, therefore moving LO back to the bench. BUT, if Phil plans on putting Bynum back into the starting lineup then he really should do it before the second round of the playoffs. Not only that but if Bynum is playing with the first unit then his rustyness can be covered up by Kobe and Gasol. Also it may help Fisher being that he is a spot up shooter, Bynums inside presents should free him up a little more. Looking at it now, like you said Snaq LO is the key to the bench mob. If we can get him back to the bench without him having a mental meltdown we should be in good shape. I dont know whats up with Farmar and his end of the season disappearing acts. Sasha need to get back to basics...catch and shoot.

i like the picture...

what do you guys think about Jordan Farmar being the PG of the future? he really hasn't shown the ability to be a PG that is going to see 30 + mins a night.

I don't think he has what it takes to play with the first unit. maybe in 5 years. he does make a good solid bench player in the first half of the season, but that is it.

sasha has been off all year, i don't know what farmar's deal is. he was ok when he came back from his injury but has fallen off lately. i blame bynum's injury which has lead to playing time inconsistencies

luke to the bench has basically replaced what lamar brought to the bench mob: ball movement and unselfishness (to a fault)

if bynum comes back, id stick him in the bench mob and keep luke there, there needs to be a balance of playmakers and finishers in both units
