FYI about Lamar and Ariza's impending FA

Now I don't know exactly what the salary cap will be yet, but from projections based on the economy and ticket sales the cap is actually going to go down this year. Using 55 mil as a safe estimate and probably 5.2 or so as the MLE we can see that only 4 teams will have the ability to offer ANY FA more then the MLE:
Atlanta
OKC
Memphis
Detroit
Atlanta - will only have 8 players on the roster though, so they will have to be extremely careful in how they spend in order to fill up their roster, plus their most glaring need will be a PG where they will either have to re-sign Bibby or go after another one.
OKC and Memphis - are both notoriously cheap and are building around their very young cores, with Durrant and Gay, I don't see either offering Ariza anything and while LO might fit pretty good for both teams I'd see them more going after Boozer or Millsap if they were really going to spend the money.
Detriot - could make a run at either guy although with Prince there why pay Ariza? LO fits well but once again i see them making a play at Boozer and if they can't get him waiting until 2010.
So to put it simply there just isn't any money to be had this summer and even if there was, teams are likely to be conservative for the 2010 market.
Big name FA's this summer -
Devin Harris, Dre Miller, Marion, Ben Gordon, Boozer, AI, Sheed, Lamar, Artest, Millsap, Ariza, Bibby, Turkoglu
Lot of players for no money being out there. I bet almost all of these guys end up back on their own team or taking smaller 1 year deals to contenders hoping for a big payout in 2010...
Stop worrying about Ariza and LO, they'll be back.
