O.T Four Oakland officers dead in the line of duty

Post#1 » by TonyMontana » Tue Mar 24, 2009 11:51 pm

Well as some of you guys know.
Four officers were shot Saturday while serving on duty.
Its a sad day that the fourth officer passed away today and its a tragedy for anyone to die, yet while on duty protecting and serving the people of this great nation of ours.

I know at times we dont like the police (The bad seeds) but there are a lot of great officers out there and these brave men and women are doing their jobs and they are placing themselves in harms way to serve and protect people on daily bases, and in all honesty I do consider the ones that are legit and are actually out there for a good cause as heros.

Its sad to see anyone dead and it sad when it someone that is their to protect others.
So I think I will start by paying my respect to these fallin heros and give them my condolence and thank them for what they have done for everyone even though I have never met anyone of them, but just like everyone else, they are fathers, sons, brothers etc and they will be missed.

May GOD REST THEIR SOULS, and Bless their families with Love.
Thank you.

SAN FRANCISCO – An Oakland police officer shot by a man wanted on a parole violation was taken off life support after vital organs were removed for transplantation, a hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday.

The officer's death brings to five, counting the gunman, the number of people killed in Saturday's confrontation.

Officer John Hege was taken off life support Monday night and his heart, liver and kidneys were removed, said Andrea Breaux of Alameda County Medical Center.

The 41-year-old officer had been declared brain-dead on Sunday but the hospital kept him on life support so his organs could be donated, in keeping with his wishes. Four patients received the organs, Breaux said.

Police said Hege and his partner, Sgt. Mark Dunakin, were gunned down when the two motorcycle officers pulled over parolee Lovelle Mixon on Saturday.

Well I know a lot of officers personally, my uncle being one who worked with the LAPD for 35 years. I also know guys with the LASD .These stories affect me a little different than the general population. Sad story all the way around.
