Whats the verdict on Shanon brown

The guy seems to have potential.. very athletic, slasher like Ariza..

Lacks a good jump shot and some times looks out of control..

Seemed to have a nice game against Sactown...

Will Shanon brown be back next year?
Will he get close to where Ariza is now?

I don't think he'll be back because I think the Lakers are gonna draft PG with their first pick in the draft but if they don't do that I can see him coming back he wont cost much and he still has good potential.

I think Farmar is better as a jump shooter not a PG the role he is forced to play, no way we will get rid of him.. Farmar wont make way for Brown..

We need a true PG thats a diff story..

Agreed. I'm sick of watching Farmar play, he's been terrible. i don't see him being our starting pg EVER! but Brown, i loved his play! he played very well tonight, i'm glad Phil is utilizing him more. I hope we re-sign him. He's definitely worth gambling on in my opinion.

im up for keeping brown for the minimum

the lakers have 14 players on their roster anyway

this is meant to be a weak draft, im the sure the lakers are actually looking to trade their pick on draft day

Not ture because the Lakers need long trem health at PG, and we can't afford one on the free agent market or no one want to trade with us. So he have to keep our picks.

no, lakers can't trade their pick. what they can do, however, is draft the player themselves and sell/trade his draft rights.

I believe Farmar will be traded along with Morrison for a quality PG/SF for next season. Phil can't be any happier with how he's been playing since the ASB.

Well it depends on who we get because might only fill one of those spots, and the other have to be filled some where else, and not to mention that we are stuck with Luke's contract which we can't really add a SF. So it's more likely that we can fill PG more easier than SF which we might have to go cheap on that one by drafting one.

After that block I think he should be paid 10m a year.

I too think we're going to trade farmar and morrison. Farmas has been playing terrible and it appears to be getting worse. Unless we're going for a solid PG, I would like to keep brown.. i see the lake show in him. Man, can the guy hop or what, and when he dunks, he dunks it with an exclamation point.

He played well yesterday. I pretty sure that if Phil gives him more PT, he'll definitely show us how good he is.

I like what he's done in the last few games. He's very quick laterally, which will serve him well as a perimeter PG defender — something we desperately need. He needs to improve his decision making, shooting and handles, but overall, I think he has more potential as an NBA player than D Von Wafer does. Not sure about his hoops IQ just yet. If he can develop his defense and add a midrange jumper a la Hamilton, he can be very effective for us.

Last night was the first time he's impressed me. Granted, he hasn't gotten a lot of minutes, but it was pretty clear even in those limited opportunities that he's about as raw as can be. He's got great leaping ability, but there's a hell of a lot more to being a good basketball player than that.

I'd imagine that the coaching staff has gotten a good look at him in practice, and that's probably what it's going to come down to. If they think he has the necessary potential, I can see him coming back. If not, he'll be on to team No. 4.

Farmar is way superior to Brown. Brown is really not a pg at all. He is a undersized 2. Maybe with Kobe he can pull it off but to suggest Brown over Farmar is actually pretty nuts.

Because Jordan's had such a great season, right? I'm more than willing to give him one more year to prove himself, but you'd be foolish at this point to not explore other options, especially with Fisher on his last legs. I highly, highly doubt Brown is the long-term option. But Farmar hasn't proven he is, either.

I think we need to ship Farmars rear end out ASAP. and give brown his minutes. Just work on his spot up 3 and he'll be an all star player.
