bynum fitting in...
is it just me or does it seem like bynum hasnt missed a beat?
he comes in after 30+ games putting up solid numbers averaging about 16points and 7rebounds the last 2 games, with a couple of nice finishes around the hoop...
i really dont think theres a single team in the league that can stop us now...no, not even the celtics

Other than that lost we had in Portland, he's doing quite well even though he said he's only 80% after yesterdays't win. All those rebouding and points, it helps take a ton of load off Pau, Kobe, and Lo's shoulders. Stay healthy bynum.. stay healthy.. hehe

Agreed, he looks MUCH better than I expected him to.
However, in the back of my mind I'm still a bit nervous about him in the playoffs. He's never been playoff tested, let alone the way it will be for us this year. I'm sure he'll be fine, but we'll see.

He'll flourish. I expect roughly the same (if not better) production with all our weapons.

Re: bynum fitting in...
His timing is off when it comes to challenging and blocking shots, but that will come through more game experience.
Surprised in every other aspect of his game. I definitely never expected him to score as well as he's doing.

Re: bynum fitting in...
bynum has been playing well, but then again he played denver without kmart (good off the ball shot blocker with good speed) and then portland, who is solid in their own right and then the grizzlies - a up and coming young team - mayo watch!
the only team that worries me is the cavaliers, but now that it looks like wallace will be missing the playoffs, it should alleviate some of the pressure on the interior. still lbj and kobe should be a great show down - of course this is based on the assumption that the cavs get past the celtics (wondering how the celtics will do when garnett finally makes his return and if he is truly healthy). other than that in the west, i really do think that utah shouldn't be taken lightly, and portland in the second round will be interesting to say the least.

Re: bynum fitting in...
Bynum and Gasol would have a problem guarding Okur against Utah since neither of them like to be pulled out to the perimeter in defense. I can see LO logging good minutes off the bench if Okur starts hitting 3s.

Thats because Bynum is in the top 10 guys in the league when it comes to talent. The problem is he needs to be more focused on basketball. He's not Kobe when it comes to preparing and working out and things like that, He is more like A Shaq attutude wise but not as bad and not as dominant on the court either.

Re: bynum fitting in...
Bynum has come back just fine... and has fit in almost seamlessly... However when Bynum is in the lineup Pau's FG% goes down as he obviously gets less touches in the paint and plays further out... but I think we will be fine.. We will make up for it with extra offensive rebounds and easy dunks from Bynum

You disagree? You don't think if he had a Kobe Bryant type work ethic he would be a top 5-6 player in the league but so far seems to lack that. He is a hard worker but not obsessive like a Kobe.

Re: bynum fitting in...
Not many players are obsessive like Kobe. So it's unfair to make that comparison. However, it is ridiculous for you to claim he is not focused on basketball and does not work and train very hard. That shows bu his constant improvement.
His injuries were both flukes and have zero to with his training. In fact, you can point to his training that helped him rebound from both injuries.

Yeah, I'm not going to hold it against Andrew because he's not as obsessive as Kobe. If that was the case, you'd have to criticize 99.9% of the rest of the league as well.
It's just an unfair standard, especially when Andrew by all accounts is an exceptionally hard worker in his own right. All you need to do is look at one of his Fat Albert-looking pictures from high school to see how far he's come in a pretty short time.
That said, even though he's only been back for a few games after a very lengthy layoff I find my old quibbles with his game starting to emerge. Namely, rebounding and paint protection.
To be fair, he's had some nice moments in the latter category, particularly in terms of challenging shots. He just needs to do a little more, a little more often.
Rebounding, though...I'd like to see him in the 7s, 8s, 9s, rather than hovering around five.
You see clips of Phil reminding him to make this a priority, and I think Andrew genuinely listens, and wants to please his coach. Then the game starts, and he gets so focused on scoring that the rest of his game take a little bit of a dip.
All in all, however, he looks pretty fantastic -- far better than I was expecting. I was hoping he'd be capable of a 20-10 game by the second round, or the conference finals. The fact he's already there is very encouraging.

I never said he wasn't focused I said he can be more focused and here is why, he has top 10 talent and potential but isn't even a top 20 player. Bottom line. He could do more. He still has to play less then 30 minutes. Come on. This guy should be on Howard's competition for best Center but nobody outside of LA would compare them 2.

you are aware that he just came off an injury, right? 4 games, right?
Cheers.
