And no way we win with Bynum lastyear, celtics was on a mission just like LeBron is on his this year.

It's ok if they use it as an excuse...it's a good excuse. If Kobe went down we would say the same. It sucks because I want to beat them...but I would love to beat LeBron more anyway.

I want to beat them at full strength. This sucks for them.

It's hard to see KG sitting out, however.

i feel for them, but at the sametime i think we bring home the crown this year regardless if kg is healthy or not. last year left a bitter taste in our mouths and i don't see anyone derailing us this year. kobe, pau, and odom are focused add a healthy bynum and trevor to that and i don't see anyone beating us four times out of seven.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

It's Doc Rivers trying to pull a Paul Pierce on us. I will believe it when I see it..

if he is done for the season, i'm guessing he'll never be the same. he's getting up there in age and has a ton of hard miles on him. once the knees go on an older, high mileage player, they rarely come back. i remember before he got traded to the c's mchale was talking about the need to start limiting kg's minutes for upcoming seasons.

we'll see how this shakes out.................i'm a bit skeptical but if it's true, sucks hard for the c's.........and not only for this season.

don't worry he's just pulling a Pierce. He'll come out 100% when the game starts.

of course we wouldve won it with bynum last year

simply by looking at several issues that plagued the lakers that series:
1. the layup drills the celtics put on, simply having bynum there alters a lot of those layups, perhaps turning around game 4 and possibly have won the lakers either game 1 or 2
2. rebounding, the lakers were outrebounded throughout the finals series w/o bynum, didnt have as much an effect until we finally met the celtics. missing bynum, our long range clangers didnt have anyone trying to clean up those misses and the celtics had their way on our defensive end
3. matchups, with perkins bodying up gasol instead of bynum and KG swamping lamar. the celtics frontcourt put on giant production disparities that kobe couldnt make up over PP/RA. we were forced to go to ronny (bless his heart) and even mbenga and mihm to try to stop them inside, didnt work

on a very superficial analysis, you can tell where bynum wouldve had his effect and how the series wouldve completely changed

This is the same dirty tactic Boston used last year it won't work this time Doc at least not against LA.

It just doesn't matter either...

The only chance we have to face KG is if both these teams make it to the finals, which despite everything is a huge if...
So even if it is gamesmanship, it certainly wasn't aimed at the Lakers... I think everyone knows that if the Celts make it to the Finals KG would shoot Rivers before he sat out... He'd have to have a displaced fracture to not play...

Added to all that, the Cavs seem to have the Celts number this year... And the Magic seem to have the Cavs number (and ours)... So the Eastern playoffs are going to be interesting...

Denver, Portland and Utah are the teams I saw us having trouble with going into this Off season and I guess we'll get to see about Utah right off... Portland could be trouble though...

So KG is a world away... Let's not get cocky...

Too bad for Boston, we have our own issues to worry about.

That does suck. Even as a Laker fan, I'm dissappointed to here that. Kg is one of the greatest players ever, and a true warrior on the court. He always gives 110%. He was always one of my favorite players.

I also want to kick the crap out of Boston with them at full strength. lol

It' alright though. Hopefully he makes it back. I think the Cavs would beat them with a healthy KG anyway, but whatever. I just want a title; either the Cavs or the Celts are a worthy, strong, and motivating eastern conference representative to have to go through.

Its unfortunate for the league but I don't feel bad for Boston in the least. Actually, I feel about as bad for them as they did for us last year. There are no pacts between lions and men, and there is no sympathy either.

If the Lakers win a Championship this year (which I hope they do)...

It will NOT be against the Celtics!

Him being done definitively means it will be a Cavs/Magic ECF. That series is a tossup, the Magic are the only team proven to be a tough matchup for the Cavs, winning both home games and losing on the road in a squeaker. I'm pretty sure Orlando would take care of Boston in a semis series but i'd like to see a young upcoming poing guard in Rose demolish their dreams in the first.
