We Want Tacos?!

It's the playoffs and all that intrumental song has signified for the Lakers over the years is intensity on the defensive side of the ball in the closing quarter, now is just a borish chant begging for food.
Kill the damn song! It's fn' embarrasing as a basketball fan, and a LAL fan.
Go Lakers!

Taco's should be outlawed during the playoffs. I want a damn win, not some fn' tacos.

Are you just saying this because the announcer said so? who cares man.. Also, the "we want tacos" chant means we're winning. I'd rather hear "we want tacos" than see people silently walking out the door at Staples.

I agree Dub, we have so many cheesy little things that people in this town cling to. Then you wonder why LA and Laker fans in particular can't be taken serious when it comes to sports. I don't think it's so much the people wanting that disgusting crappy taco,I think it's something that some cornball going to the game wants to come away bragging to his or her buddies about the next day. "Yeah I was in on the taco chant"

I agree it is lame to hear it on national TV in the playoffs. What is next. Game 7 win in the finals and people wanting tacos for them instead of a championship.

Some of you here are missing the point Dub is trying to make. It has nothing to do with the damn taco itself, it has to do with the perception of how vain some people can be here and the perception on how it comes over on a national tv broadcast.
Who cares about the damn tacos, now it wouldn't have been an issues if punk ass Mike Breen didn't bring it to the attention of a national audience. Bottom line this is the exact reason why people across the nation think our sports crowds here are a joke, and like Dub said it's embarrasing.

I see, so the whole crowd chanting we want tacos in the first round of the LAL playoff run doesn't take away from a great performance by the LAL in game 1? I think it does a little. The focus shouldn't be begging for food it should be cheering on your team thanking them for kicking ass game 1...for Trevor to hit every shot he took, for the LAL to play excellent team D when they went thru some dry spells on offense to get the "mo" going again, for Shanny Brown everyone's super geeked about taking D league prospect JFar's minutes away giving us a 1 that can play alongside D Fish gives us great hope going into the playoff stretch, for KB24 being our fearless leader doing whatever it takes to get our team the win, no it's a stupid taco chant to close down the last five minutes. Shouldn't the fans be chanting "DEFENSE"?
This is the playoffs, I want this title for this LAL team, I want them to win this title handily without question, not some casual fans that think this title is a mere formality, chanting tacos like we are in the fn' preseason. The mindset of the LAL fan is too casual IMO. This group of LAL players can be special, who knows what happens in the off-season. What the roster will look like in the next few years.
Game 7 in Staples, the score is 99-97 LAL and LBJ has the ball with 24 seconds left and the Staples crowd is chanting we want fn' tacos as LBJ cans a three for the win at the buzzer.

i dont mind the tacos chants
because it gives motivation to the players to play defense
plus, ppl pay absorbitant prices to see the lakers
whats wrong with trying to get a couple of free 99c tacos?

At least we won't have to worry about a game 7 at staples since if it goes that long and if we are still in it vs the Cavs in the finals the game will be at Cleveland. So disaster avoided!!.. lolz

It has become more of a statement a second meaning than the actual want of tacos. I mean really no one cares about the 2 chinsey Jack in the Crack tacos, they or we simply want our team to play defense for the remainder of the game regardless if it is an iminent win. I could care less what other cities think about us as fans, they hate us anyways just for having a winning legacy in Los Angeles.
