GAME 3 BREAKDOWN
The Lakers take a 2-0 lead into Energy Solutions Arena for the second straight year. The Lakers can't worry about containing Deron Williams, let him be a scorer that way no one else is doing much damage. The Jazz got a good game from Carlos Boozer in Game 1, but he struggled his way to 20 points in Game 2. The Jazz lack of depth in the front court has hurt them.The Jazz fans will be in a frenzy, the Lakers must absorb the early onslaught attack the Jazz will try to come with. Rebounding will be key to keeping it close, the Lakers were the number 1 rebounding team in the league but have yet to show it in these playoffs. Ex-Laker coach Pat Riley once said, "No Rebounds.......No Rings" he wasn't lying.

Drew and Pau gotta start bust'in butt to get boards. Their Game 2 total was.............10, you got to be kidding me. And only 2 was offensive. We gotta rebound, the end of a defensive stop is a rebound.

get up by 20 pts, get disinterested, realise theyre only 3 points behind, score a few more, win

jazz seemed to really get after it in game two (got off to a fast start) and we probably would have been in more trouble if we didn't get off to a blistering pace

i think the jazz will come out like that again in game 3, we need to match their intensity, and continue to exploit our size and depth advantages. need to rebound and limit turnovers

im not sure deron wouldnt have come out with such conviction in the 2nd half (and vice versa, the lakers being lacksidaisical) had the lead not ballooned to 22 before HT and 15 early in the 4th quarter

Drew and Pau weren't really hustling after rebounds, those extra chances helped the Jazz.

Late though, I gotta give credit for Pau with his min block party.

As for game 3, we have to come out strong. I think Kobe will definitely take the initiative and get us going.

I'd still take Janet today. One of the baddest chicks ever IMO.

If the Lakers want to win against this Utah team on the road, they have to play much better defense and offense than in the last game. It's driving me nuts watching them allowing the opponent to hang around like this.

But I gotta hand it to them, they've won games this way all season long. I'm just dreading it coming back to haunt us. If it does, we're eliminated. Why can't they string it together like they did during the first two weeks of the season? Maybe they're still pacing themselves... I know, I'm a homer.

Great game thread. The Lakers need to play this game with a sense of urgency. Play it like it is game 7, because obviously this game will dictate the rest of the series. End this series on the road!
