Knee problems keep Bynum from completing full practice

Dont know how much to read into this report, but Im hoping it is just the brace causing discomfort. :(

"I don't think it's anything that the training staff thought was structural," Jackson said. "Some of it's due to [the] brace, wearing the brace and the inhibiting of the brace of the motions. I think it's all capable of working out, but he did not work much on the court today at all."

I just have a bad feeling that this is going to be a reoccuring theme throughout his career...

It's not certain that this is because of the old injury not healing well.

Sometimes when you come back from injury, you move in slightly unnatural ways (even without a brace) because you're instinctively trying to keep the injured spot from moving freely. With a brace, it's even harder to let lose and be free in motion.

Such held back motion can create new wear and tear in joints etc, and create discomfort and internal irritation, often in places other than where the injury used to be. Let's hope they're just trying to keep this type of stuff from escalating.

Why does he have to wear the brace anyways? Precautionary measures?

For increased stability and confidence, is what I heard. They said it was not a necessity but a choice, when he first came back.

its already paid off

that hit from marc gasol to his knee couldve been the re-ending of his season again... but the brace prevented his knee from spinning and bending backwards

I agree. Malone got minimal-to-medium contact on his "recovered" knee 5 yrs ago and it got F'd up again due to the way it tweaked. Imagine if Bynum was done for the season in his first game back...against Memphis.

Again, hope it's nothing major.

In the 2nd half of game 2 i saw Bynum twist his knee a bit and then fell back.. He was slow after that..

Could be the cause of the swelling..

I wouldn't be against it if Phil limited his minutes. We don't absolutely need him to beat the Jazz. I say don't push it right now and play him only 20-25 minutes a game. I just want him to be able to go all-out for the conference finals/championship rounds

I knew it was to good to be true. Gasol needs some steroids.
I have absolutely no faith in Bynum this year. Everytime I see him play I look at it as a gift but a gift that won't last.

lol @ gasol needs some steroids.

Bynum should put a sleeve, knee braces and tape them on both knees. Just to be sure.
