Dont you guys think that an NBA coach deserves the right to question a referees decisions during a game. Even if the referee made the right call/no call shouldnt a coach be able to dispute it. I understand that it would make officiating a lot more difficult but why shut the coaches up by fining them such large sums of money? What ever happened to the integrity of the game? Even if a call was blantantly false no one can say anything about it? WTF Stu Jackson and David Stern?!?!?

NBA coaches question calls/no-calls during the game all the time. They almost never get fined unless its in a postgame interview. Then its a tax write-off for the coach.

giving them challenges like in NFL would seriously disrupt the flow of the NBA already

maybe replace some existing timeouts with challenge timeouts so the refs has 2 minutes to review tv evidence regarding a challenged call??

and the players/coaches get their timeout to go to good use as well...

I think for the cost of a timeout for a challenge or if the challenge is wrong and they'll lose their timeout would balance everything out. It a coach is adament about a call then they can do such a challenge.. if they're unsure, then leave it to the ref to do the calls.

I think it woul disrupt the game that much. At least with this, the crowd wouldn't be all pissed off after watching the replay.. hehe
