New to this board, go lakers make it 2-0 and we're in good position.

I have big expectations in this game. After making only 41% of our shots, we should certainly shoot better. If we keep feeding our big guys victory WILL be ours. And yeah we need to keep the Nuggs under 45% shooting. Their shooting kept the game close.

The big X-factor would be the refereeing. I understand referee's are only human but you have to be legally blind to miss the calls they were missing in the first game. I AM SERIOUSLY CONTEMPLATING WRITING A LETTER TO DAVID STERN.

Hmmm.. this game thread is making me HUNGRY....

For some reason when I saw this thread and WCF I thought of the WWF then I thought of the Nuggets and I thought of fail.

Another crucial game that lakers must take in order for us to feel in the comfort zone.

Our bigs need to get more aggressive and involved and fisher must man up and make them shots!

The safety game. A must-win for the Lakers. Come out on fire, play confident but not overly cocky. Be physical and don't expect a foul-fest in favor of the Nuggets as game one was.

Here's 3 concrete reasons the Lakers can win this series.

1. Game Closering
Kobe proved last night he's still one of the best at doing it, and he was man enough to play the whole 4th. Melo was good but Denver's offense isn't that creative.....basically it's a "jack jumpers" at will offense. Melo didn't even see the ball that much down the stretch. After Bynum's enforcer foul, he never scored again. Which leads me to believe they have a bunch of guys who want to be the guy, if you're trying to win you go to your closer.


2. Coaching
While on the other hand George Karl was typical George Karl, some coaches can only coach when they're ahead. When the game reached the "chess playing" stage, Karl got tighter than a skirt on Beyonce. He made 3 erroneous mistakes, the first was resting Melo when he was in a groove (and they was off 5 days he ain't tired).The second was and third was done in the same sequence, taking out Anderson ( which limited the chance they had at a rebound) and having Carter inbound.

Phil on the other hand coached a damn good game. From the different coverages he played on Denver, and the monkey wrench he threw by switching Trevor to Billups. Phil told the whole damn world that if the Lakers won Game 1 it would be on pure emotion alone and he was right.

3. Composure
For all the talk of Chauncey leading and turning around the Nuggets, they still to me anyway have guys that will freeze up during the tough stretch of games. The Nuggets will soon realize they're not dealing with New Orleans and Dallas anymore. Denver in fact became very predictable in the last 5 minutes, anybody in their right minds would have to know the ball is going through Billups and Melo. Think about it.....you think Kenyon want's to shoot the rock inside the last 2 minutes ? Chris Anderson ? Nene ? My answer is hell no, now JR will probably want too but his game has gotten predictable now all he want's is the jumper from 3 country. Bottom line when the game got tight so did the Nuggets and their play proved it.

Final analysis
If the Lakers find a way to slowly strangle the dual that is Melo and Billups, they win this series going away period. Look at that roster and tell me.....who besides those two can make plays for others ? Choke these two off and the body will die.

If trevor or kobe does the same job on billiups like last game we have a good chance to win we just need to contain melo make him work for every point, establish our bigs down low early, kobe going to have a big game again no one on the nuggets can guard him and hes punishing them on the block hes not bailing them out by shooting jumpers kobe either gets a high % shot or goes to the line its a win win GO LAKERS
