I was just wondering since here we are in the W/C finals and once again history repeats itself and we have another L.O MIA from the playoffs. So with that being said is it time for us to let L.O go and start looking at other players in the F.A next year and drop him and our hopes of him being a contributor to this team.
I love the guy to death but it seems like he always disapears when we get into the playoffs and now we have to resign him or let him go. I honetly dont want him to leave but I just cant stand the fact of his inconsistancy and his disapearance when we need him the most.

I do like that Lakers have options with him this year than having to try and trade him with the huge contract. Definitely put Ariza as priority over Odom as he's probably much cheaper, younger, and plays better in the post season. I see a sign & trade possibly happening or take a look at some free agents that lakers can afford with Odom gone. Right now Lakers could really use a good PG or PF/C. I'm still sad that Sasha was resigned over Turiaf... If lakers keep doing stupid resigns than only another miracle trade like Gasol for trash will save the lakers.

wasnt it odoms defense guarding the inbounds passer in game 1 and 3 the reason we won? lol.

but someone who shows up every game would prevent lakers from being in that position.

Knowing LO, he's probably playing through some intense back pain/injury. He's not the type to make excuses and his play has been very dissapointing.

hard to tell from stats... seems like his FG% did drop a bit... Game 4 he was just really bad like game 2 in Houston series. His rebounding did drop a bit. I guess near double double isn't bad, but his salary is still a bit too high imho.

Ya but this is the same pattern we have been witness to since we got Lamar in the P&G. Every year he does well in regular season but then he disapears when the playoffs or the finals come. This year he hurt his back but he wasnt hurt in the Jazz series and he got hurt in game 5 of Houston I believe so blaming his back even though it might be true doesnt justify him being MIA yet again.

normally odom is a mismatch for most teams besides denver, kmart and birdboy are basically making him a jump shoter, they can defend him in the post. All odom can do is to shot open jumpers and drive to his right hoping for a foul so he can make 1 ft.

I disagree Odom can take any of those guys off the dribble, ANY OF THEM.
Its just he's not there mentally, like every playoff game we have ever played.

Milsa is going to be a free agent this year right? Any chance we would be able to sign Milsap? The guy is young and plays with a lot of energy from what I've seen.

heard on myers/hartman that he's taking anti-inflammatory drugs to help him deal with the back injury that sent him to the bench and limited his movement.

Thats what i mean, they double off of him to dare him to shot. when he tries to drive on them off the dribble its a miss running left and maybe a foul and he'll make 1ft. surprisingly his 3p shot is off the charts.

Then thats why......... Lollll
Have you ever taken any anti-inflammatory drugs DC, that ish makes you so numb even hours after the drugs has wore itself off. It takes you a good 4 to five hours before you entire muscle system gets back to normal.

I like Odom alot, I really do. He seems like he a great locker room guy, he's a great rebounder and he's come up big for us before in some games where we've needed him. Everybody on the Lakers seems to get along with him pretty well and he's shown flashes of how great of player he can be. That said, however, his continuous inconsistency as a player and his disappearing acts during the playoffs make him a liability to this team. At this point he should have developed a consistent level of play that would allow us to accurately guage his abilities. But at what 28, 29 I still have no clue what kind of game to expect from his on a day to day basis. He's such a wild card that you have to just pray that he gets it together for more than one game. It hurts to say this but I think we should just let him go at this point. Signing Ariza has to be our priority and if it means cutting ties with Lamar I think we have to do it.

would be nice to get a few of those games like he played when Drew went down and he was putting up series rebound numbers.

I've never been an odom apologist, but with the lineup we have he's absolutely found his role. He has a back contusion, and by all accounts a pretty bad one - he's never one to complain about it, and he has been a part of 2 absolutely critical plays that have locked in Ws. The one to worry about is Fisher. He's been awful, and not "eh, he'll find his game with enough time" awful. He's been "holy christ phil, why the hell is Fisher in the game again" awful.
