Pavlovic

Post#1 » by Erik Eleven » Wed Jun 3, 2009 2:42 am

Per the wiretap, Pavlovic might be on the block.

I've always really liked his intensity and style of play. Anything we should do to get him? A Sasha for Sasha trade somehow?

EDIT: I know better than to bring this up before the Finals start, I was mostly interested in what you guys think about his game. I always liked it.

6-8 210 lbs.. long.. one of euros best defenders.. Sasha aint knockin them down and his defense has kinda fell off imo.. $$$ match except Lakers Sasha has one more year.. Depends on what the FO does with Shannon, DJ, Josh Trevor and Lamar.. Take care of home first...

Yea I like his game too, hes like a poor men's Posey. But he sucks this season though, maybe it's just because he fell out of the rotation. Because of the acquisition of Mo, the cavs are playing James in the 3 spot most of the time now.

This guy was deadly sometime. If Sasha continues to struggle, I'll do it. This guy can knock down wide open threes and we need a guy like that.

Pavolick is one of the most talented players to ever play the game for sure, but he may be a tad too much.

You gusy have already ALOT of talent, adding a monster talent like Pavlick into the mix might be like the 04 lakers, just too much.

He's a guy who can score with the best of them, had the scoring ability of Larry Bird and the defense of Scottie Pippen.

Will a guy like that mesh would Kobe. Kobe might get jealous of how good he is and start acting erratic jacking up shots trying to outscore his teammate.

WIth guys like Ariza and Odom you have guys that can replicate Pavlick talents in small bursta and not get Kobe mad, and you guys can still win a champoinship.

THink about it.

I'm not well acquainted by his defense but his 3pt % has been as erratic as Sasha's and he shoots a terrible FT %. Can he handle the ball and run a break? Could he be a liability on offense?

Do you have any idea who you are referring to here? Pavolic aka Pavlopippen got the best handles of any SF eva seen, he handles the rock and dishes like Pippen and defends like him too. His threes are inconsistent yes but ultimately he's as clutch as Larry Legend himself, his FT% is neglible because Sasha doesn't drive in to get fouled, he drives in to finish, and most of the time he contorts his body to finish and he does so in such a way that defenders can't touch him so they can't foul him either.

I still think Pavlovic > Sasha. Pavlovic actually can make threes that are slightly contested. Sasha is completely ineffective unless left wide open. Either way I wouldn't want either of them on the Lakers and hope somehow Lakers can just drop Sasha and his salary so we can use the money to resign Ariza.
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

yeah, get him but waive him for salary cap. I think we should focus more on keeping our guys first especially LO and Ariza. I hope we're able to keep them both. Possibly LO can take less to stay? Or get rid of luke hehe.

lebron said that "he needs more playing time"

i dont think he's getting an opportunity in CLE...we all know how shannon brown and trevor ariza turned out...
i think a pavlocic deal would be a 'healthy one' for us...he will probably be able to contribute here

can he shoot 3's?

I don't see why Cleveland would even consider doing a Sasha for Sasha swap. They gain absolutely nothing in return, and in fact they probably get a little worse.

Not a fan. Seems like we already have enough of these loose-change types on our roster to begin with. Why add another?

I'll pass. I am sure there will be someone else available that could be more valuable to this team.

Pavlock is a joke I don't know why you'd even want him.

He won't find any minutes with Odom/Ariza/Walton contirbuting at SF anyway. The guy purely sucks.

I'd easily do the deal. At worst we could waive 75% of his salary and save a cool 7m for re-signing our players. Why does Cleveland though?

Odom doesn't play SF, I thought that was obvious.
