YEA!!! I used to be a big KG fan. I loved how emotional he was and how hungry he was THEN... he got traded to the C's and suddenly... his ego got elephantitis!

A healthy Boston could have made the finals.

I wonder if this year's Lakers could beat last year's Boston defense.

1. What's the big deal?

-They've got a very good team and KG was an elite player when he was healthy.
-One of the reasons they got knocked out of the playoffs was due to injuries
-Another would be the Christmas Day backhand. (I could link ya if you're interested)


2. The Championship "Guarantee"

-Not everyone can just snap their fingers and guarantee a championship.
-Only a very elite few can say that and back it up; I would know.

IE?
-Examples of ppl trying for that throne and failing this year: "Mo" Williams.
-A few days after I guaranteed the Lakers the chip he told reporters that he guaranteed the Cavs to advance past the Magic with a quote along the lines of, "they can't beat us four times, I don't see it happening, I just can't."


3. KG-
-Btw.. I hope he's fully recovered by next season.
-He's one of the better players in this league and someone I respect on the court.

At full health it's quite the match up. I hope for both teams to return with their Christmas Day rosters of this year except obviously the Radmanovic switch. I want to see Fisher retire and then watch as we utilize Shannon Brown to hunt down, Ray Allen.

If Gasol gets physically even stronger I can see him eventually besting Garnett due to age. An ever improving Ariza, hopefully a rested Kobe, and a still hungry Laker bench and we'll beat them in the Finals next year.

The answer is yes, we would have beat them last year with our current roster. The Christmas Day match up had an improved Rondo with a subtracted Posey. Fair I would say overall. We won that game. We beat them minus Bynum in Boston. They're beatable.

No one has guaranteed 2 like that

I hope the media blast JR Smith and Mo Williams next year and periodically ask them "are you sure ?" at the post game conference... they reply dumbfounded and the reporters "well last time you made a guarantee, a promise that you would win it all, you put your rep on the line and failed, now I have a hard time knowing if you are going to back up what you say"

Well, at least he didn't tell it to the media himself. I hate it when athletes or coaches guarantee they're going to win, it always makes them look like an idiot. Being fired up is great, but I wish they'd just keep their mouth shut and go out and prove it if they're so certain.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever...

The problem with this is that there is no official quote from KG himself. The comment came from the owner in probably an off the record convo, now all the guy did was put KG on the hook for something he won't be able to deliver.
