still a Laker after Kings go with Westphal.

Looks like Rambi and BShaw might end up battling for the post-Phil job.

Being an Assistant on the Lakers >>>>>>>>>>>>> Being head coach of the Queens

Rambis or BShaw? Neither make me excited as a future coach. I was hoping Rambis would go. The Lakers already tried the Rambis experiment. Does Rambis assume they'll be many more offers? Did Buss offer him the post PJax throne?

The Kings have made it clear they're not willing/able to pay the price of success. Rambis was wise to pass on their offer.

Is that the reason fareweather? $?

No, its just one reason I am glad Rambis passed. Others:

Serious lack of talent.
The firing of Reggie Theus, IMO, showed that management is not willing to give a coach time to mold the young talent (I use the word "talent" loosely).

In sum, why give up a sweet gig winning chips in La La land (and the possibility of stepping in for PJ) for a "destined to fail" position paying crumbs.

I don't see the incentive...

If anyone hears from Rambis, via a media outlet, please post wtf he didn't take the head coaching job. I think Sacto has talent myself. I'm not sure I'd agree Rambis is the money future coach of the Lakers.

Maybe not the money future coach but think about it in Buss' eyes... Phil and his 12 mil per year retire and turn it over to Rambis or BShaw who will gladly take 2 mil (which is a hefty raise from their assistant wages), and that 10 mil helps to cover 1/2 of the 20 mil tax Buss will be paying out. A couple of extra home games every playoffs like the Houston series game 7, and potential game 6 in the finals, and Buss starts to break even.

You cannot move forward with the myopic vision that Kevin Martin is a superstar and Spencer Hawes will be a special player.

The Lakers will need an experienced pro coach until Kobe is gone. As long as the Lakers are elite Rambis won't be the coach.

They will go after coach K and other coaches first.

Its a good strategy for Rambis to turn down an offer so now he is a wanted guy and the next interview he goes to they will talk long term and he will get a better gig.

Rambis wants a lot of rings. He'll just have headache from the Queens.

why would he want to leave for a subpar team that is still in the building process with missing parts. He'll just be another scapegoat for the franchise and then ultimately get fired. He made a smart choice. Lakers are on top right now, if we could win this championship..who knows, we may win several more championships.
Then again, phil may also retire thus possibly giving him the throne..
