Before you start all your Bynum trade fantasies...

Don't forget that he is a BYC player this year and it makes trading him damn near impossible. Most likely a 3rd team would need to be involved and its unlikely we could get proper compensation.

Resign our boys and go get another title, nothin else to it :)

a byc player make him harder to trade not imposible in fact a trade like hinrich and noah for bynum jordan and morrison i think it works.
Like i said before we dont need to trade bynum only for trading him, we need a p.g. and a back up p.f./c and he can get us that.

so what do you think about this

Detroit is trying to move Prince for a PF. if they do they will throw money at Ariza.
it is always harder to get big for a small. it would probably be easier just to keep Rashheed or sign a big. with that said would you do a sign and trade Ariza for Prince?

Ariza gets his money, Detroit get a young Prince, Lakers get a seasoned Ariza. win, win, win, situation.

Prince will work very nice in our system, I always liked his game after he handed us our ass wooping in the finals, but imagine if Rasheed comes to LA too............

Oh man. I think L.A. loves Ariza too much to see him go. OTOH Prince is a Dominguez Hills native here in L.A. as well and sure would be loved to. I say sign and keep Ariza, he still has potential to be untapped learning from Kobe which he already benefitted from his shooting regimen. Torn so torn.

Ariza will end up a better offensive player... I'd like to keep him, so only if it meant major cap flexibility, which it won't.

i prefer to keep the team intact since the chemistry is hight between them.
Maybe some minor adjustments here and there. I'm pretty sure the lakers aim to keep him... i think it's solely up to him as to how low he's willing to accept. I mean this is his career and money is a big factor in it like what he said. "money is important"

Lets just get both. screw the lux tax.

As much as I love Prince, I'd keep Ariza.

Ariza is younger, and probably has more potential for offensive firepower. I also think Ariza is more athletic.

Seems like a lateral trade to me. Prince was hurt last year. Prince has post moves and can create his own shot more than Trevor can, but Ariza has a excellent three game and great athletisism. I'll trade you this red apple for that red apple. Ok.

I'd prefer Ariza, but wouldn't be crushed, either way. I don't see something like that going down.

agreed. ariza's explosiveness is a great complement to the team. he is shaping to be a prince-like player anyways, so in terms of age, i would much rather have the younger option :D

Why not trade farmar and sasha for a pick

bynum > hinrich and noah.

I'm sick of seeing hinrich in Laker trade scenarios.

The only type of trade I would want to make this off season is Farmar/Morrison/2009 1st in a sign & trade for a nice piece to create a dynasty. The Buss Family and Magic Johnson made an extra $48 million from the playoffs and finals home games. So that basically takes care of any luxury tax so they should be able to resign both Ariza and Odom. Plus using the MLE on a player like Rasheed would be extremely nice as well.

1.S&T Mike Bibby for Farmar/Morrison/1st
2. Resign Ariza & Odom
3. Sign Rasheed with MLE for 2 years

Bibby/Fisher
Kobe/Sasha
Ariza/Luke/
Gasol/Odom
Bynum/Rasheed

We also have options on Powell, DJ, & Yue plus 2nd round picks, and the vet min. So we will still be upable to have the league max of 15 on the roster easily.

1. resign odom and ariza...the lakers shouldn't let them walk
2. the biggest trade asset we have is bynum, whom we can move without changing much chemistry since he was fouling out in 16 minutes of play anyway...
3. i'd do a marc gasol+1st rounder for bynum+farmar
