Re: Lakers draft pick
I dont know who all was in, but I like Austin Daye hes 6-11 SF from Gonzaga, he needs sometime but i think hes worth the with imagine
we could go with a tall/long line up that will cause alot of trouble because few teams have the size and skill the lakers have

note on Jermaine Taylor working out today -
A guy on the draft board who goes to UCF says think of Taylor as a smaller Pietrus, leaper with a good outside shot.

shout out to aussie_laker,
I see Joe Ingles worked out for the Lakers. What can you tell us about him? Is he a candidate for 29 or for 42?

no way for 29, maybe for 42 but you can probably get a better player
if he is there @ 59 (probably a 20% chance he is still there ) then he might have some value
joe is a jack of all trade, 6-8 SF with long arms, is a good passer, good shooter, good defender but has been playing in a weak league, would be good to get him @ 59 tho and send him to europe for a couple of season and see if he fills out

Re: Lakers draft pick
Isn't there a new rule that makes player workouts open to all teams in the league? I wonder if Mitch and our scouts have been attending other workouts or if that list is all our target players.

Read on a scouting report that Taylor has freakish strength for a SG, ala DWade.daddyfivestar wrote:note on Jermaine Taylor working out today -

Re: Lakers draft pick
Three draft picks is a waste for this team, maybe one will make the roster. Why don't we do something with packaging them and throwing in cash to move up and get somone who will be around still in 5 years. It seems like Portland buys picks every year.

Re: Lakers draft pick
Two of the picks, if all three are kept, may end up being Euro-stash.

That is not always true because some of them could end up being a big need for us.

I say we get either Darren collison or Patty Mills. Preferably Mills.

Re: Lakers draft pick
Remember Marc Gasol was drafted, allowed to play in Europe, then traded for Pau. You never know what talent we can get from this draft.

Re: Lakers draft pick
From some the most recent mocks i've read it seems like the Lakers are going to pick a couple of players who wont be with the team for at least a year if a guy like Cassippi falls to 29 I can't see the Lakers not taking him other potential euros mentioned are Jerbko, maybe Calathes if he falls into the second round and there is this french PG that also has been mentioned i cant remember his name but it starts with a B. Also in a recent interview on the Lakers website Kupchak said he doesn't see the Lakers carrying more than 13 players and that includes potentially resigning Brown, Ariza, and, Odom that doesn't leave much room for any rookies and that might mean if they can't trade Morrison they may just waive him.
GO LAKERS

honestly I don't think he is any good, He is one of the better players in the NBL(our local league) which is a very weak league, but he by no means dominates. He is by no mean a first round pick, and I think would be a 2nd round pick at best, but would not make our roster. there have been better players than him go to the USA and have hardly any impact, Andrew Gaze, Shane Heal, Chris Anstey, Brad Newely - players you would have all never heard of, who were all better than Ingles.
I hope we take Mills

Re: 2009 Draft Discussion
i wouldn't be surprised to see the lakers sell the pick, if they can even get a buyer.
going to be fun watching what the wolves do with the 5th/6th pick.

Expect the Lakers don't want any more salary coming back.

i think salary has to match unless there is something else involved.
