OT - "Shaq to Cavs" done deal!

Post#1 » by Slava » Thu Jun 25, 2009 4:29 am

The Cleveland Cavaliers have reached an agreement in principle to acquire Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O’Neal(notes), a league source told Yahoo! Sports late Thursday night.

Cleveland will send Ben Wallace(notes), Sasha Pavlovic(notes), the 46th pick in Thursday’s draft and cash to the Suns for O’Neal.

Man if Bron doesn't win next season you could say he couldn't win it even with Shaq. RealGM Bragging rights FTW!

Wade and Kobe are probably laughing at LeBron. Saying to him, "You don't know what you're getting into." I can hear Shaq now saying, "I raised 4 great ones but now I got the greatest of them all. "

Yeah whatever this act is stale and old now...............They still couldn't beat us. Now Kobe can kill two birds with one stone next season.

Nice move by Cle Shaq is a beast no matter what, if he can play 20 minutes a game and put up 12/5 that is a awsome deal. His presence alone will help create for Lebron. They still cant handle us but good move.

Shaq fills up the lane, hurting LBJ's drives, but he'll get easy assists.

it was bound to happen... if shaq requests it.. u better listen lol.

I don't care if he's 37 yrs old... his dead weight in the middle can clog up the whole united states, Cavs is definitely in contention now. Since he's on his last year of his contract, im pretty sure he'll try to play his best. Sr Superman vs. Jr Superman.. LOL.

at least we can let them duke it out in the east... If lakers can maintain their core guys and get some help... we'll meet one of them in the finals hehe.

Big time bragging rights.

Cleveland pretty much signed the deal with the Devil with this move. If they come up short of a championship, LeBron is as good as gone. Simply because I don't know exactly how bringing in a future HOF and one of the all-time greatest big men period in Shaquille O'Neal, doesn't automatically make LeBron think he can win it all next year. This makes Cleveland an automatic favorite to win it all. Shaq was still a 17 and 8 guy last year so the media wanted their big baby James to get help, he got it. Coming up short of a championship and crap dribble is gone I think. I might be biased with this remark, but want to see a Cav's and Lakers finals next season so LA can whip their asses. I want LA to bury this team. This will mean so much for Kobe alone if he can beat down the media's "best player" and Shaq in a face off. (Think of those ratings now) It would permanently propel him to one of the top five greatest players to ever play this game if that scenario did happen. And with this Lakers team, with Bynum's (hopeful) breakout season next year. I am very confident can beat anyone.

I'll be rooting for Cleveland. But just so they could get dropped by the Lakers in 6.

Seems like all these contenders are doing all they can to try and dethrone us....first the Spurs dumps their 3 old dudes for Jefferson and will probably get Bowe back so they obviously improved. Now the Cavs dumps 2 useless dudes for Shaq who is definitely an upgrade. Why did Phoenix do this? Shaq is expiring and so is Ben Wallace....What was the point? I think Phoenix is just upset that they can't beat us anymore so its like the rich annoying kid at school who cannot win a fight so he decides to ask some big dude to go beatup someone he is jealous of.

Lakers will easily and I mean easily win the Pacific division. Even if they didnt have Kobe and Drew they would still win the Pacific division. How sad for those teams

Phoenix basically traded away shaq for nothing because Kerr's plans fell on their asses. It had nothing to do with them helping Cleveland to beat us. He had all this money put into the team with these players, one of them being Shaq who just made the team worse off, with this move they were just looking for cap relief and trying to avoid paying big dollars towards the luxury tax. In other words; Phoenix's front office are run by retards. However, they aren't too dumb to realize when they're plans aren't working and decide to dump players out to save a buck.

to save 10 millions dollars

contracts need only be within 25% +/- 200k to work...

phoenix did it to shave 10 mil off their payroll

they even didnt want the #30 because then theyd have to pay the guy a guaranteed contract

since kobe got his.. im pretty sure shaq is more than hungry to upstage is ole buddy. Lets see if his body can take him that far. My take is it's going to be like in phoenix. He'll be out of shape and won't play back to back games.
