Lame. Now I have nothing to look forward to in this draft. It sucks being a title winner. No drafts, no trades, no movement. Offseason is not a fun time for me now.

I heard Yue is going to demand a trade...

You could look forward to that?...

+1. Even though the Lakers rarely pick high in Round 1, I always look forward to our Round 1 selection. It gives me something new to focus on, especially during the off-season and into the pre-season.

Here's to hoping for trades soon.

+2

Ty Cobb is a NBA Draft geek like me, ;), love today, last two years have sucked! I want a blue chip talent!!! I wanted Wayne "Game" Ellington.

Look at it this way TyCobb you could have had RJ for 15M or Shaq for 20M if you were a fan of the Spurs or Cavs. No thanks!

I love Thabeet, I hope OKC gets him. I really like that team. That's a team I'd be rooting for if they got that big. A lot of people aren't as crazy for Thabeet. Westbrook, Thabo Sefolosha, Durant, Jeff Green, Thabeet. Backups Collison, Krstic, Weaver.

I'm not sold on Rubio, the NBA today is full of fast, quick, athletic, three point shooting point guards, Rubio is a heady player that is a great passer, he would buck the trend if he panned out.

there is talk of all kinds of trades going down during this draft, even if we don't have a pick there is always a possibility of us trading somebody on some wicked multiple team trade. I think it would be worth it just to see if we can get rid of Ammo, or Sasha, or Farmar, or Sun. unlikely, but plausible. (ok, I got to go kill myself for using the word "plausible")

The $ has nothing to do with the cap, ok thanks, "just straight cash homey" like a drug deal.

I love Calathes ... but this is fine with me. Kupchak is clearly focused on SAVING money and that is fine with me. Three million dollars is a lot of money and can go a long way in paying someone's salary.

Continue to save money and trim salary so we can resign our guys and add one other piece (Kidd or Marquis Daniels).

kupchak was right... we want someone that can contribute right away.. not just learning the program. Beside we have two more very way-up-there picks to choose for summer camp hehe.

I wonder how much we sold it for.500k? 1m? That money will probably go towards shannon brown.

Man, so many trades and acquitions.. it's getting me all ansi LOL.

I've still got my fingers crossed for Calathes and Jack McClinton in the second round.

LOL. 3 million is the most you can offer a team in trade. It's part of the collective bargaining agreement.

and, the word in NY is that the knicks are giving the lakers their 2nd round pick in 2011 plus cash. Apparently there was a bidding war for this pick and the Nuggets wanted it too.

I know that a future 2nd rounder and cash for a first rounder may not appeal to you guys on the surface, but there's the otehr factors of how much your owner wants to spend, and who he wants to spend it on, and there's the 15 player roster - maybe Zen Jackson wants to sign a vet with the last roster spot and not give a guaranteed contract to a late first round pick.

It's funny, on the Knicks board, they are bitching about giving up a 2nd round pick - how crazy is that. I guess they had their hopes set on a free pick.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

even though we sold the pik for 3 mil, we really make 4.7 mil cuz the 29th pik has a garanteed contract of 1.7 over 2 yrs which we now dont have to pay

^ double the 1.7 because LA would be over the tax in both years, really made 6.4 mil off that pick
