OT - Vince Carter Home to Orlando

Post#1 » by ALL HAIL » Thu Jun 25, 2009 9:19 pm

Add Orlando to the growing list of teams (San Antonio and Cleveland) that are getting better.

Vince Carter to Orlando for Alston, Courtney Lee, and Battie.

If they resign Turkoglu (they probably won't) they get a lot better and deeper.

If they let Turkoglu walk it's somewhat of a lateral move with Carter being a little better than Turk.

On a side note, if Jersey dumps Devin Harris they IMO will be the favorites to steal Lebron next summer. The only guys they will have on the roster next summer will be Lee, Dooling, Najera, Lopez, and their first rounder. That's roughly 10 million dollars on the books. They'll be able to sign Lebron James and a couple other good FAs ... if they dump Harris that is.

Spurs, Cavaliers, Magic just got a lot better. What's next, Jefferson back to the Celtics?

I love the notion that once New Jersey only empties its talent pool (salary cap) completely, then they'll have enough money to sign LBJ. As if he would want to go to Jersey to play with a bunch of rookies. Yeah, why wouldn't he do that for his music producer buddy?

I'm lovin that these trades are going down, because it's more dirt on Popovich face since he was the one who opened his mouth about teams robbing others. Looks like the Spurs,Cavs and Magic have keys to the Brinks truck.

Wow. I don't know what to say. These teams are looking like all-star teams. They're ridiculously stacked.

If the Magic keep Hedo...

Nelson, Vince, Hedo, Shard, Howard?

That's out of control, man, wow. That's filthy nasty.

I guess our championship this year didn't demoralize anybody. Every team is suddenly excited to win now.

Now this is a deal that could trouble us. Carter is a huge upgrade over Turkoglu.

Ryan Anderson is a sleeper in that Orlando trade. I like him a lot playing alongside D12

If I'm an NJ fan I don't see any reason to renew my season tickets until 2010.

Has nothing to do with us, Cleveland and Boston are the ones trembling in their boots. I'd be more worried if Turk goes to Portland, if he does we'll have to counter that move for sure.

If Hedo doesn't sign with the Magic (imo I don't think he is), hes probably gonna go with another contender, so this creates another problem. Where is he gonna sign portland, cavs, celtics, jazz???

Is Carter really better than Turk? Only the LAL stopped Turk in the playoffs. Carter, 33 years old next Jan., due 16/17/18 next three years, last year is team option. SAS & CLE get nice players for scraps in this new NBA market/economy where teams are tightening the screws, yet the Magic give up C Lee a rookie stud for theirs. That's like buying an overpriced used car and turning in a new car you got a good deal on.

On paper looks crazy, but chemistry-wise? I don't think he'll help the team go over the hump, but that's just me though.

Chad Ford speculates that the VC deal means Orlando will not re-sign Hedo. That'd help out the Lakers... unless Hedo signs with Portland, then that'd suck.

I feel you.

If they lose Turk, they basically are losing Lee and Turk for Carter.

If they're really serious about getting back they pay Turk the 30 mill over 3 years he deserves.

He's a really important player for them -- extremely versatle with the ball and the ability to defend both forward spots.

One of the most unheralded players in th league.

Orlando couldn't live with that C Lee game 2 miss. That was their chance. They had to cut ties instantaneously to rid themselves of the recurring nightmare. Everytime he put on the Magic uni they'd remember it...

true about cutting lee. jacked up though.

secondly, they'll dump turk. BUT IF THEY DONT? holy crap, that would be somethin else on a powerful scale back east. dwight, turk, rashaard, carter and nelson?!?! that 5 right there is a 3 ptr or facial dunk waitin to happen. dwight and carter will jam in your face. while turk, rashaard and nelson will gun you down from the perimeter.

wont happen, but that would be an awesome lineup.

I like this trade. Any chance Orlando's looking to trade Lewis instead of Hedo? For another big-man that can play alongside Howard? Boston and the Cleveland must be trembling in their boots.

Good for Orl another offensive minded player who has no concept of what defense is. If they resign Turk who the hell is going to not cry about not getting their touches.
