They listed the NBA free agents at ESPN.com and they listed Brown as a restricted FA. Now ESPN and SI have listed Brown as a RFA.

Until now most people believed that Brown was unrestricted and that he was the least likely to be resigned of the Lakers free agents. This news if its correct makes him the most likely to be brought back.

his post implies that brown is a restricted free agent, contrary to previous thought that he was an unrestricted free agent

Maybe I misread your post as you said..
NBA.com has him listed as a Restricted FA AND SI and ESPN have him listed as a RFA... ?
^^ Thats the same thing. Sorry If I am mis-reading this.
Yeah, Brown is an RFA in the sense that he is coming off his rookie scale contract and he was a 1st round pick. So, we have him for the Early Bird Exception which basically means we will have the first crack at him but he does not have a QO.

Come on Phil. Not everyone who makes a thread is an idiot. You should know better.

I didn't know about the NBA.com FA listing I had thought that before ESPN, SI was the only one that had him listed as a RFA. The other sites I had seen said he was a UFA.

ah... you meant to put UFA in your original post. Got it.
Yeah, it's not that good for us as we won't over pay for him if another team wants to. Hopefully, we can offer and give him a fair market deal and he continues to grow with us.

I always thought 2.0 was some kind of nerdy you are a robot version of Phil reference.

I still fail to understand how Shannon's a RFA, I even looked online and found some people discussing it but found no explanation. But if he is then he is

Has a qualifying offer been extended to him? The deadline is tomorrow (June 30) and that will definitely answer the question, since there's no way the Lakers pass on the qualifying offer if it is an option. I see no word about it so far.

He's not coming off his rookie contract. Chicago released him after his guaranteed second year ended (they didn't pick up his 3rd rookie scale year) and Charlotte signed him last summer to a minimum contract. Sham is showing an option of 1.03, but storytellers and patricia bender do not. Odd.

if he's Restricted, it would be so much good for us. But most likely for me, he's unrestricted.

Anyway, he'll stay with us.

i hope he's restricted. Who's his agent... It better not be Lee. Or else he'll say and do anything to get his clients money (rational or not).
