The Lakers and Kings appear to be the front runners to land guard Nate Robinson, a restricted free agent of the Knicks.

Sacramento was reportedly close to swinging a deal that involved Robinson and Jared Jeffries at February's trading deadline, but talks between the Kings and Knicks fell through.

It's possible that the two teams could rekindle talks this summer.

The Lakers was rumored to have inquired about Robinson after he scored 33 points at the Staples Center in December, and both Kobe Bryant and Jerry Buss gushed about the guard after the mid-December game.

If the Knicks are willing to take Farmar and Morrison or Sasha the Lakers should do it. But I get feeling that the Knicks want to unload one of their bad contracts with Robinson. Imagine the dunk contests during practice between Nate and Brown.

morrison/farmar/some 2nds/yue/cash for nate is good with me, means bye bye to brown too though, but thats ok since the money it would take to get nate would need to be a long term commitment. we'll see how that byc contract works though.

I would give up Farmar/ Morrison/ Sasha/ DJ or they can mix and match. I would trowin few second rounds pics also.

I love that boy, would love having him on the Lakers!

Will be a great scoring punch off the bench and since our 2nd unit plays an uptempo offense anyways his underrated distributing skills can also be utilized well. I wouldn't be opposed to having him since he's a 100 % effort guy all the time but if we were to spend the money, I'd like to wait on Kidd before offering Nate a contract.

Screw that. Nate is a good player but is and always will be far too short for the NBA. He belongs on a team like the Knicks or Kings where championships are never a question and they can afford a massive defensive hole for 20mpg.

This is true.

And yes, Nate is a defensive liability, but the guy tries on D.
With Phil Jackson's coaching and Kobe's leadership, Nate would flourish off the bench, become 6th Man of the Year, and the Los Angeles crowd would love him. For his size, Nate is one of the most talented players I've ever seen. If we let him go, I would like to see him on a winning team, to show people that he isn't just a side-show slam dunk champ-gimmick type of player. When given minutes, this kid produces in the stat sheet-rebounds/steals/assists.

Intersting idea. I'm still riding the J-Kidd train until there's no way he can come here. I woulud dump Fisher and Farmar in exchange for Nate/Kidd anyday. Sign Kidd for around the MLE and trade Farmar/Ammo/Fisher+2nds to NYK for S&T Nate.

I can dream can't I?

Kidd/Nate/Brown
Bryant/Vujacic/Brown
Ariza/Walton
Gasol/Odom
Bynum/Gasol/Mbenga

AT first I thought there was no way it could possibly happen, but the Knicks actually might be interested in a one year rental with some potential + Farmar. Could add some nice explosive punch to the bench.

Isn't nate robinson one of their top jersey seller? Why would they do that? He is helping the Knicks financially.

Nate off the bench would be insane!

that would make our bench so much better. Guys got a ton of heart! And can score like crazy, will definitey be a fan favorite also. Only thing I'm worried about is he's somwhat of a blackhole. I also don't know how he'd react to playing 20-25 minutes a game. I still think Fish is a better option given that we don't need a PG to shoot very much since Kobe and Gasol can carry the offensive load pretty well, throw in a healthy Bynum there won't be many more shots to go around.

I think that way too much for a Nate, I'd much rather keep Shan.B. Besides Nate is MLE at best anything more is a heist by Nate's agent.

take the leash off this kid and let him go ape$h... I just hope he wouldn't jump in Gasol's arms..might break his back.

Nate Robinson is definitely not worth the MLE to the Lakers. We can get players like Artest, Kidd, Marion, Miller for the MLE. I wouldn't want Robinson on our team unless we got rid of Adam Morrison/Sasha Vujacic.

Marion? doubtful. He's getting whatever LO gets essentially.

he would give showboats for us and give a lot of energy. He'll help the bench and also could be our starting PG. I don't know if I'm giving him the MLE because I don't think he's worth of it. Maybe just a trade and getting rid of Sasha.

I live in NYC and have got to see him play on a regular basis. He wouldn't be a good fit on our team.Basketball IQ is very low and he's always having confrontations with team mates and opponets. He's not worth the headache!  :nonono:
