Power forward Josh Powell and center D.J. Mbenga will remain on the Lakers’ roster for the 2009-10 season after L.A. opted not to terminate their respective non-guaranteed contracts by the July 1 deadline, according to Lakers spokesman John Black.

Nice move. Two bench players for grand total of 1.92 mil. Any word on whether Sun Yue's deal was exercised for 736k?

That's why I asked about Yue. That would be the 13th slot - Yue (736k) or Elonu (480k), either carry an extra guard or an extra big.

If Sun were sent to the D-League for the year his salary would still count against the cap, right?

good job, i really like Powell, and i doubt Mbenga would have recieved other offers

Powell has a good consistent shot
