**IF** Ariza leaves, who's our starting roster?

Let me preface this by saying that I truly believe that Ariza will come back as a Laker. There's just a lot of posturing right now on behalf of Ariza's agent and after it's all settled, I'm pretty confident we'll have Lamar and Trevor on our team. BUT, if Ariza does go what would you want our starting line up be? I say we start Shannon Brown at 2, and Move Kobe to 3. With Sasha being our first person off the bench for the 3. Sasha will come in firing like he did a year ago. Shannon showed a lot of potential this year with only half a season in the triangle. Imagine what he could do with a whole training camp under his belt in the triangle. I see Shannon as our starting PG eventually taking over the reigns for Fisher. But if we lose Ariza, I could see him starting at the 2. He has the skillset to play this position and Kobe can play the 3. Which he excels at in the triangle.

I like T. Ariza

But I'm not sure if he's legit yet. If I'm the lakers I don't sign him for more than the MLE.

After it's all said and done I think the lineup looks like this:

pg: Fisher/Farmar/Brown
sg: Kobe/Vujacic/??
sf: ??/Walton/Morrison
pf: Pau/Odom/Powell
c: Bynum/Pau/Mbenga

I think we need to get a scoring SG because Kobe is getting up there in age and we need someone to limit his minutes this upcoming season. We don't really need him for the regular season that much. We need him healthy and fresh for another Finals runs.

SF would ideally be Artest or Ariza. But who knows?

If we lose Trev which I think we will, Mitch will be forced to make a signing that will cover the gash. Marion or Artest will do fine with me. As far as the starters well that's a bit hard to call. I mean we don't even know about our point spot. Farmar has to take the bull by the horns and slang it against the wall. He has to show Phil he can beat Fish and provide decent shooting nightly.

I love Ariza here but if he wants 36 million or more than he can walk. I'll take Artest or Marion to replace him.

An extra 6 million to the Lakers is nothing.

They just made 4.5 mil selling 2 picks.

They can sell a pick next year or the next and make it up.

Pay it up Mitch and Dr Buss.

Ariza is a 5 year deal that will be hard to replace for all 5 years.
Youth and his 110% hustle are worth a lot. He can be penciled in for 5 years
and no more SF headaches each of the next 5 years.

This guy is worth more than the Radmam, Walton, & Sasha deals.

Ron Ron or Marion will need negotiation each year until they leave.

Get the titles with Ariza.

I presume we can only offer MLE for any new signings.. so will Artest or Marion sign with us
Artest will get more from rockets and Marion from Toronto.. both are keen to resign.. so i think it wont be a an option..

bring back Odom and move him to SF...

Ariza needs to take control and tell his agent to calm down and shut up. He has to understand the lakers are just testing the waters to see how much he would get and then see if we can match... If he wants 8 mil then I prefer letting him go and get marion or artest like what u guys said. Ariza is awesome but sometimes he gambles too much... If his agent filled his head up with all of these digits than no matter what... he's determine to get that max and leave...

I think it all comes down to Bynum... Bynum got the max deal and yet he played like an MLE player. Now that Ariza is on top of his game and help get us the championship... it doesn't compare...

quick question, if we lose odom and ariza do we get any sizeable cap room?

if no then i think we should just pay the ransom because theres no way we can upgrade in free agency.

1st option- bring back odom and ariza.

2nd option- get artest and odom

3rd option- get artest sign mcdyess

4th option- get grant hill, sign mcdyess.

5th option -save your money, let adam morrison start and see if he can have a breakout season.

Hahah Marion and Artest splitting the MLE/Toronto or Houston taking on one of our crap players in Morrison or Sasha or a bad contract in Luke. That's just a crazy world.
