Nightmare

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Thu Jul 2, 2009 6:47 pm

Now that my nightmare appears to be happening before my very eyes...TA our badass SF for the next 8 years, no one seems to appreciate much, is close to gone. Does D matter to anyone anymore? Our defense would take a HUGE hit.

I'm assuming we sign Odom for 9-10M. If he signs for more it's going to be really upsetting to me. Need I remind you all we all wanted his head two years ago, now he's 24 carat gold? I'd ,much prefer Ariza for 7-8. Anyway I've bitched about this Ariza>Odom long enough, I realize I'm on a deserted island with this opinion.

If Ariza does walk...What about this to appease me...Give me what I've always wanted, and we just can never get, a young stud PG...

Ready...

Ramon Sessions with the MLE...
15th rated FA according to the article below. Ramon Sessions(notes) (R): Bucks can match, but if you listen to Brandon Jennings(notes), Sessions might as well not think about returning to Milwaukee. He’s coming off a productive season in which he averaged 12.4 points and 5.7 assists, but gambling a good chunk of the midlevel exception on him could be a risk.

I think we're keeping Ariza or LO but unfortunately not both. We can't have 5 players on the team making more than 7 million/year. If Bynum was living up to his contract, we'd have much more power with the LO situation. He's really just insurance for Bynum, we don't want to pay $10 million for Odom to come off the bench. And if Ariza ends up going to CLE for less than we offered, I will hate him forever.

As for signing Ramone Sessions, is this guy that good really? I'd rather have Hinrich to be honest. Sessions had some 20 assist games to close out the 07' season, when it was just garbage time but he didn't do much with his starting role in the 08 season IMO. I'd rather have a vet on a championship team than Sessions.

If we lost Ariza and Odom and didnt' get Artest or Marion, it would be a nightmare.

It will be OK, with Kobe & Pau another Ariza will come along for <<<<<<8 mil. I'm a big Ariza fan too, but players come as mediocre players all the time to play alongside guys like Kobe and flourish, then go to other teams and don't do much. Odom, even with his inconsistencies, is much more of a game changer. I'm down for Sessions though if the Bucks will let him slide for the MLE, but I'm guessing many other teams will try for him at MLE too.

DUB....... Contract season everybody plays like an allstar. Sasha for example even Bynum before he went down etc etc, but we all know too well what happens when they get that phat contract.
If Ariza walks so be it. Also do you recall Ronny T when he walked for more money? Did we miss him, NO did we find a replacement for him?? We sure did, in Powell and Benga stepped up.

Lakers made Ariza, and Kobe helped Ariza become a good player, but lets not forget the amount of F.A out there that can contribute more than Ariza for a lot less money than Arizas looking for.
If T.A walks so be it. I dont give a hoot since I know Mitch isnt a stupid to let him go and if he does then there is a reason behind that move. We might not find out but Im sure at this point and time I have a lot of confidence in Mitch as a G.M.

The Lakers made it to the finals with Odom and without Ariza. They haven't proven they can do it with Ariza and without Odom.

Resigning Odom is the smart move even if it means letting Ariza go.

role players come and go, i'm sure we can find a solid defending player who can put up 8 and 4 for the midlevel if ariza doesn't want to sign

yea but the thing is that is that this time Ariza could be heading to another contender who could pose a threat to us. Losing Ronny to Golden State isn't even on the same level as losing Ariza to a team like Cleveland, Portland, or Houston. Thats just something to think about.

I want them both, not only that we need them both. They've been with this team for some time now and I don't like the idear of new players coming in. Our offence takes time to learn Odom and Arzia has been with us for tooo long. They played their hearts out and gave us their all. Were the F***ing Lakers I know we can dish out the money to them.

I like this team:
SF:Ariza/Walton/Morrison
PF:Gasol/Odom/Powell
C:Bynum/Mbenga
SG:Bryant/Vujacic
PG:Fisher/Farmar/Brown

I hate this one:
SF:Walton/Morrison
PF:Gasol/Powell
C:Bynum/Mbenga
SG:Bryant/Vujacic
PG:Fisher/Farmar/Sun

I am open to this on tho:
SF:Artest/Walton/Morrison
PF:Gasol/Wallace/Powell
C:Bynum/Mbenga
SG:Bryant/Vujacic
PG:Fisher/Farmar

But I much rather keep our old team

i dont 'think theres anyway in hell he'd go to any other team if they don't offer more then the midlevel exception, he was born and raised in la and is playing in his hometown for the team he loves, this is strictly a money issue, and lets face it, if someone wants to pay it, he needs to take it, this game is a business, theres no loyalty in sports except for with us, the fans. that being said, portland or toronto is the only team that can offer him more then us

HTown offers Ariza MLE, lol. C'mon Trevor come back. I want Turk to sign in Ptown, cuz Ptown can offer Ariza more along with TOR, I don't think he'd go to TOR.

So his options CLE, LAL MLE or POR more $...I don't see him going to TOR more $, HOU MLE

yeah, por signing turk makes our chances of landing him alot better, our mle starting offer isn't gonna stand though, we'll end up paying i'm around 7.5 probably, basically making him have to choose between 7.5 here or 8-9.5 in toronto

personally i'd take the money
