Antonio McDyess or Joe Smith An Option

Post#1 » by kooner » Fri Jul 3, 2009 10:42 pm

would Antonio McDyess or Joe Smith a option for the lakers. We might be able to sign one of them with the veteran minimum. They would be a good back up along side Lamar Odom up front, and one them would be a good presence in the locker room (whoever we could sign). Once we resign Odom all we need a point guard, but a veteran big man would also be a nice edition to the team. We can let Sun Yue go and sign one of them. I think Antonio McDyess would be a really nice edition to the team. A good locker room guy and a great back up with experience.

Certainlty they would be good additions(McDyess more so than Smith) but the question becomes can we afford them?

We only have the LLE left and those guys can get more than that easy on a 1 year deal, we just need Odom and Shannon and maybe unloading a bad contract and we're ready.

I'd love to have Dice for the Veteran's Minimum. From the looks of it, we might become his best shot at an NBA Championship. While we're at it, why not go after Kidd using the LLE?

PG - Kidd/Fisher/Farmar
SG - Bryant/Brown/Vujacic
SF - Artest/Odom/Walton
PF - Gasol/Odom/Powell
C - Bynum/McDyess/Mbenga

We'd >2004 without a doubt barring injury.

I would like to have McDyess but I think Powell will be enough for us, I think.

I've always liked Joe Smith. I think if we could get him for the LLE, we better.

If the Lakers bring Odom back there would be no need for Smith or Mcdyess have people forgotten about Powell or DJ I mean their nice players especially Powell and they cost less than 2 million. Guys we can't have everything.
